These may not pass safety code on new construction jobs nowadays, but 2 friends and I sided with them for 5 years w/o any injuries or failures. Occasionally a little oil is required on the crank and pump mechanisms due to rust inhibiting easy operation. Most of the complaints I see here regarding them not working correctly, I would chalk up to user error or inexperience. If you use an aluminum plank, stuff a series of 1" wooden dowels in the structure tubes of the plank to allow you to lay a box of siding, cut soffit or fascia on while working. I still have my set and am using them to reside my friend's lake house right now. Brace the poles up properly and these are a very safe and efficient way to do siding, house painting, etc.

BTW, on tall poles, we staggered our joint splicing 6-8 feet rather than just 18 or so inches as shown in this video.

Thank you for the tips video. I'm about to go take that thing up on a deck 30 feet up and we forgot a step in the locking of the crank handle

I dont like tgem at 25' high they woble and just dont feel good. U look straight down the poles and see how bent they are too!

Qualcraft use steel cotter pins which rust in a few month while other company use galvanized one. Qualcraft somehow gets stuck at the top and I had to pry out with a hammer. I will pay a little more and buy either werner or alumapole.

installing the 2 pump jacks went very straight forward, they go up perfect, however, they dig in trying to come down. I can not make them go down. I am using 2 x 4's. any ideas on what to do? I am stumped

we used them in the 80's I didn't mind them at all until you start going down. you know mash the pedal and start cranking because it would suddenly drop a few inches and

You are suppose to put tension on the pedal before you depress the pedal.

I have used werner, aluma pole, and qualcraft pumpjacks. While I do not completely understand the locking and climbing mechanism, I suspect that they are similar in features. I purchsed qualcraft pump jacks and work bench since they were cheapest. Lately I noticed the plastic end caps covering on these are falling apart while I had no problems with those on werner and alumapole. Without those plastic end caps, your pole will be gouged. Stay away from qualcraft.

Oui mais pump jack semble uniquement être fiable seulement pour des chevrons de section faible, je dis pas à quel point c'est dangereux sur dix mêtres de hauts !

Total shit. They get stuck coming down - yes, I am using FIR and they're level, plumb and straight. Such a huge waste of money.
