I am just about fed up with using my phone for stop motion! There are so many issues that it causes. Even though I follow ALL of the anti-flicker methods (blocking the windows, wearing dark clothing, turning off all lights in the room except for my set lights, and setting my phone camera to manual) I still get flicker randomly! I can be in the middle of a shot that has been completely flicker free, and out of nowhere my phone will start randomly taking pictures that are slightly brighter causing flicker! If I notice it in time, I can sometimes just wait or take a bunch of still pictures until it randomly decides to put the brightness back to the original level. But if I don’t notice, I can finish an entire shot only to figure out that it has an unbearable flicker and I have to redo it!! (Sometimes I don’t redo it as you can see with a few of the shots in this animation.) Another thing that I sometimes don’t notice is if the focus is off. Because the screen is so small, I sometimes don’t catch it until after I animate an entire scene! (For instance: 0:22.) I am hoping to get program Dragon Frame at some point. With a better camera and stop motion program I think I can fix a lot of these issues.
