Wow! A friend of mine just took it and said the same thing. Unfortunately, she didn’t pass. You would think Medsurg, and safety is the focus on NCLEX. Did you pass it?

Great video. Do you think doing a QI project on a near miss due to toxic staff relationships is a great way to address patient safety and the toxic environment?

Thanks for this information. Some nurses use this process to take our medical line organizer product - The Beata Clasp - to their hospital. To keep lines off the floor and easily traceable!!! 😊

Thank you for this video. It helped me a lot😊 I have a question. I am wondering when we should interview the patient when we conduct an QI activities.

Typically, quality improvement is more about improving a facility policy or procedure. For instance, finding ways to decrease hospital-acquired infections. In most instances, the patients wouldn't need to be interviewed for that process. However, for a patient safety event or a sentinel event, it's possible that the patient or family/visitors would need to be interviewed if they could provide information about what they observed happening, or what their experience was during the event. I hope that helps! --Meris :)

Dumb question, when would any error in healthcare be acceptable? Wouldn’t “0”% errors or defects always be the standard by default? Could you give an example of when or what area of healthcare would anything but “0”% be acceptable? Thanks!

Hi I work in healthcare risk/ quality! so almost everything is over 0 because the average is more than that. We have to establish benchmarks that take into consideration the average in the nation. Just saying 0 will make almost everything fail and you can’t compete with something that doesn’t exist! I hope that makes sense 😄
@miranda725

So what we want is under the average. If we keep doing good, then we can lower it more to stay competitive with ourselves
