Usually as long as you have two units with element weakness vs mobs while farming you should have no problem surviving because the mob will get deleted before they do any real dmg to you. I had no problem doing this on hard mode on smt v.

I'm not sure if I'd call "Saving Anywhere" QoL. Sure, it's convenient... but you kind of sacrifice tension by having it. What threat do normal encounters pose in a game where you can save anywhere AND warp to a healing station at any point?

@kai0318 It's not about wanting fewer options it's that some people prefer to have less conveniences to preserve some of the difficulties in the risk reward aspects of the game. By not ever having the option to use these mechanics, it adds more difficulty and perserves the bragging rights that come with saying you beat a game on its highest difficulty. It's definitely a niche opinion for sure, can agree there. I do think this particular example is more hard-core than others.

Personally I think the ability to save anywhere is a regression in game design, but whatever. It would be nice to have the ability to permanently disable the feature at the start of the game, similar to how Dragon Quest XI has modifiers you can apply when starting a new savefile.

@@strangevol5264 I disagree, SMT IV would've been even better with a traditional savepoint system + suspend save feature since it was on a portable system. The ability to quicksave everywhere guarantees progress and I don't like that. I want incentive to think twice before doing something haphazard and I want the game to make me work for every inch of progress. It's fine if they add quicksaving as an accessibility feature, but there should be a way to disable it. Imagine if Dark Souls 1 had quicksaving. It might save a lot of walking but it would also be extremely harmful to the game. Sen's Fortress would turn the game into a quickload simulator. Quicksaving isn't just a QOL feature, it results in a fundamental shift in how the game is played and perceived by the player.
