I like the game but it’s kinda flawed. Goes on a bit too long and repeats itself a lot. When it’s good it’s very good, but by the end of it I just wanted it to stop giving me quests in optional dungeons and things. It just feels like they weren’t thought through very well, like making you do the dragon temples twice, or having the first optional dungeon make it so you would have a harder time if you used certain jobs only to drop that going forward. Also several of the “palaces” being reused content really hurt them in comparison to P5. Hopefully they’ll refine a lot of these ideas for Persona 6. It was a good game though.

Robbed yet again of GotY. First BotW, and now Astro Bot. First nostalgia and now Astro Bot for the PS 30th anniversary. Nostalgia sadly keeps winning! Definitely Game of the Year like Persona 5 should've been!

Did you play Astrobot? I think it was the better game. It was very close but that felt next gen, and metaphor felt a bit like I was playing a PS4 game with the graphics and the reused assets and stuff. Astrobot scored higher user and critic scores on metacritic too so I wouldn’t say it was just nostalgia. It’s fine if this was your personal game of the year but I don’t think anyone robbed anything, Astrobot was good. To be honest neither of them would have got a look in had BG3 or Elden Ring or something releas d this year.

@jaybee4288 Scores don't matter. What matters is what the games do. Astro Bot is just another Astro Bot game. Metaphor is actually a new game. Mechanically and narrative it's a better game. I played and beat both. Astro Bot is a fun game, but it doesnt have a robust narrative or mechanics as Metaphor accompanied by a phenomenal narrative. This is from an objective perspective, not just my personal perspective. The same can be said of Astro Bot. It's just reused assets from the previous Astro Bot games.

I think it was a weak year with little to choose from. There literally weren’t many big releases that actually had a narrative. But yeah somehow it went under the radar how woke this game is. I’m surprised the political commentators like Vara Dark and Asmongold didn’t hate on it.

I think Stellar Blade or Wukong were ahead. Metaphor has some great tracks but a lot of filler/reused music too. Was always going to be a hard one for them to win when other games have hundreds of orchestrated pieces.

I loved this demo so much that it was my most-played of the month of October with 80 hours. However, I usually wait a year after release to get a game. That way, it is likely to include everything extra, like the Royal version of Final Fantasy XV, at a lower price than it was released at.
