Hey I am gonna take a DMH-c2500 or 2550nex 6.8 and using that 30pin wire that connects the screen to the chassis make a custom Y splitter wire and connect in a second larger screen from the DMH-c5500nex. So I have 6.8 in my standard double din spot and a larger 8” screen on pass. Side in my airbag spot. I really think it would work. They all use same 30pin chassis to screen cable and basically run the same brain unit setup.

Really want the capacitive touch of the 5500 series but, can't stand a lack of physical buttons. When in a vehicle that has a stereo without physical buttons or knobs, it really distracts you from the road to do simple things like adjust the volume. And I don't care for steering wheel controls.

Question. I'm now learning about car stereos. What is this stereo missing by not being "double din" ? Do double din radios usual come an amplifier that helps with sound quality? Does this stereo miss out on that because it's only 1din or whatever? I'm considering it but it just seems so different from the other stereos in have in my Amazon cart even though it's seems to be the best.

No, as stated in the video this is a Double DIN stereo. You can also tell just from looking at the product, the screen is clearly a Double DIN display, so it'd be impossible to install in a single din opening which is only 2" in height. Not exactly sure what you mean by adjustable depth.

Just use a different shaped bracket, I think it could be done. I would cut two thin pieces of aluminum sheet in an L shape to the length needed to recess the brain box into the single din slot and screw the screens rear panel to it centered.

What is the difference besides screen size/Modular display in these models and AVH-2550NEX series? I'm swapping from a Kenwood DMX905S to one of these. The AVH-2550NEX or the DMH-C2550NEX. Beyond what was discussed in this video.

AVH has the rear connections built in, the C2550 uses the AV pigtail harness. AVH is navigation compatible with the AVIC-U280. The AVH can play CD's and DVD's but C2550 cannot. That's about it

I'll never buy another radio that doesn't have wireless AA. Or I'll just ditch them altogether. I've been through so many USB cables-yes they were all cables supplied by manufacturer of phone, plus replacements from them. Just flat out doesn't matter. they don't hold up. Whatever it is,. They need to fix it. I won't waste my money and this or any other unit. Yea it's cool, but no wireless , and even no HD screen, no thank you. If smartphones can put all that technology in that tiny of a space , no reason they can't. Tired of getting nickel and dimed with the slow to catch up technology that's honestly way behind. Got a buddy who owns a car stereo shop, we are just gonna throw a tablet on my truck and have all the bells and whistles

I had just had one of many daily battles with my USB so was a little ticked off lol. Some days it doesnt give me issues , some days It won't stay connected to save my life. Then have to go through the whole process of uninstalling and reinstalling and this and that and it just makes me want to go back to strictly CDs. Sometimes it's such an elaborate situation with car audio these days and having to worry about wire and bitrate and streaming and on and on, it sounds so nice to just to pop in a CD , know it's the best quality , and just enjoy your music
