Reason for all Quant Mutual fund's underperformance in the last 3 months : Quant MF has increased cash holdings to a record 20%, which means for every 100 INR which it receives, it is keeping 20 INR aside, and investing the rest 80 INR. Quant MF is suspecting a market correction soon, and they would like to invest the money at that moment. This has nothing to do with SEBI news. Retail investors need not fear.

People need to understand that an AMC is also a business, and when a Star like Quant comes about and starts overtaking other established AMC's, they are going to invite trouble. Quant structurally is sound, their investment philosophy is extremely logical. News platforms are also a business and they need to create narratives to keep their channels alive. Everyone is watching their own backs and it's retail investors to get thrown in to frenzy of panic. People need to take the news with a grain on salt and be extremely patient before arriving at any conclusions.

Yes, I agree. HFCL is certainly a good investment. I've put my entire retirement corpus into the stock - because of the company's highest standards of corporate governance, stunning profitability and strong past investors like Mr Parekh. Definitely involved in some way that's not strictly legal. Most of the charges leveled by Hindenburg and Khera against Adani, Buch, ICICI, Quant, Tandon - appear to be credible. If an unbiased probe is carried out - all skeletons will tumble from the closet. There appears to be a nexus between the regulated entities and the regulator and some shell cos, bogus FII who are gaming the markets to manipulate stock prices. They carved out one of the longest bull run leading upto the elections in an effort to project that govt's decisions are making the industry grow and even amateur investors are being rewarded. Election over, gains gone.

If Quant is saying that they assess and manage risks very early based on various factors and believe in generating risk adjusted returns, that means at any given point of time their portfolio is safe, then why their funds keep dropping drastically during sideways market or bear market? For investors concerned about recent underperformance of Quant funds: - Mutual funds are long term investment. Investors should not worry just because of last 3-6 months. They need to have patience. Every fund goes through a bad phase. - Even last year Quant funds underperformed in first 2 quarters but they more than made up for it later on to come out as one of the best performing funds last year.
