good advice. now i wonder regarding the schematic diagrams that i encountered, i have never seen quantity of length written to it, just the cable specs. :D to share my experience as CQS i do measure on plan and if i had a doubt where the cable run, i have to go to site if possible and ask some1 there

For a safer side, how much cable quantity can be considered for wastage, termination and cable length buffer?

10 to 15% would be safe i believe

@@QuantitySurveyingStudio but 10% is only widely accepted. Presently I have a project. The conduit was under the scope of the mep contractor. Cabling is under our (subcon) scope. What we faced is the cable shortage. The mep contractor installed the exposed pvc conduit in the void area. Conduits are not going straight. There are riser, drops, offsets etc due to ducts and equipments. The most important scenario is this is a variation scope. The consultant usually tells coordination is your scope. Now we made an as-built sketch and given numbers for each offset locations and photos taken from the site and named the offset locations number. It is under consultant review now. If it is not approved then clearly we are losing in cables. It is a scenario. If we do a material reconcilation, we can clearly identify.
