I'm studying for a test in a week and this is the first time I've learned of all this and you made it sounds so easy. Thanks!

Photons do not emit energy , it is the electromagnetic wave itself(ex. Radio waves, light waves) that emit the energy;the energy produced by these waves is not continuous meaning the energy is emitted in small discrete amounts. The total amount of energy would be adding all the individual discrete amount of energy emitted by a specific wave. Note that the small discrete amount of energies emitted by light are called photon. Depending in the wavelength, a photon can be a high a energy photon or low-energy photon. Some might not understand the concept of electromagnetic waves producing energy, but you can of these when your sitting in a room and the lights are turned on(light is releasing photons and room is bright)

Thank you for very clear and easy explanation....

I agree in thinking the notation for frequency is counter-productive to learning the equation. Also, I think it's easier if you just plug in the equation for frequency (v=c/lambda) into the equation E=HV to get a new final equation...E=HC/lamda (for one photon). Also, I got 166861.96 J/mol or 167kJ/mol. I don't know how you rounded from 1.66 x 10^5 to 1.68 x 10^5 J/mol.

Thanks for the vid, but why in the world is frequency 'v' instead of 'f'? That's very distracting.

@RealationGames The "v" is actually the Greek letter "nu". It just looks like a lowercase "v".
