My grandchildren are 7 and 4. They will live in very interesting times. I am only 70 and I think I will get to see the beginnings of this stuff. What I wonder is: What is the future of sci-fi if in 20 years sci-fi is no longer fiction? My grandchildren will look at the sci-fi I've been reading since I was 16 and they will laugh. The technology I've grown up with will look as primitive to them as the horse and buggy are to me. Far out.

@@LabFlurry Technically we can't really know for certain, but my point is that quantitative change progresses into qualitative change. As I said, we're in the midst of an inflection point in technological advancement. How long it will last is currently anyone's guess but whatever the case, it will be succeeded by another indeterminate period of relatively slower, more incremental and at times imperceptible change.

Okay man, I have to be sincere I spent 5 years bulding a very innovative 2090s scifi worldbuilding, so I have the irrational fear if tech evolves too fast it makes it less futuristic, because I’m trying to do just like the Jetsons 60 years ago they envisioned several decades ahead. So I’m doing the same, so I’m expecting several decades to achieve the level of what I’m currently envisioning

So called Dark Mater is such a theoretical DUCK! As for any point in time before which there was no other point in time such as a big bang duck. This is also logically invalid. An interesting theology NOT a valid scientific theory. Thanks for this video.
