I think naming QD-OLED as OLED is as naming IPS, VA, TN as TFT LCD , base is same but implementation is different, same with WOLED from LG, technology is same but how is use is different. I know is possible to use electricity to "activate" QD, but is there proces (even in efficient, but which always works) to use lower energy photons to emit higher? Because energy stay same, only use more photons to do it, or quantization preventing it completely ? (I know is possible at low chance)
