In this video, we will learn about Schrodinger's atom model and quantum numbers.
Schrodinger developed a new concept of the wave motion of an electron around the nucleus. He called it the wave-mechanical model of the atom.
This model differs in that it does not give the exact path of the electron, but instead predicts its probable location depending on a set of probabilities.
So, Schrodinger formulated a mathematical equation called the wave equation, and its solution resulted in three numbers (n, l, ml), while the fourth number (ms) was added later by scientists, these numbers are known as quantum numbers.
(the principal quantum number n, the angular momentum quantum number l, the Magnetic quantum number ml, and the spin quantum number ms.)

Spin has nothing to do with rotation, despite its name. An electron spin has to do with how an electron reacts to a magnetic field. It also relates to the antisymmetric property of electronic exchange.

The Schrödinger equation describes - in this video - a charged spinless particle in an attracting Coulomb field. The more realistic Pauli-equation is a better model for the hydrogen atom (with spin 1/2). Spin 1/2 means, the system transforms under Rotation like the SU(2) representation of the Rotation group.

@@jossarian Yes, but the SU(2) group does not necessarily mean rotation. The behaviour of electrically-charged particles resembles rotation but nothing rotates. The name spin reflects that similarity but is misleading, which is the point I wanted to state. So that people like this channel's holder do not spread misconceptions.

A free electron moving in z-direction with spin 1/2 in z-direction has wave function ψ = (1,0)exp(i(ωt - z)). You may rotate(!) this into spin -1/2 with ψ' = (0,1)exp(i(ωt - z) by exp(iπσ(x)) ε SU(2). By the way your bound state hydrogen atom is rotatetd by an element of a suitable SU(2)xSO(3) representation of the rotation group. It makes no difference whether you rotate the coordinate space or the physical system (= the electron). Your hydrogen atom is rotated(!) by SU(2)xSO(3), a product representation of the rotation group SO(3)!

amazing video! in my language, pt-br: n = nível de energia; vai de 1 até 7; l= descreve a forma do orbital; vai de 0 até (n-1), desde que s =0, p=1, d=2 e f=3, se um subnível possuir o valor de l de 0 até 3, ele terá os subníveis 0(s), 1(p), 2(d), 3(f). m(l)vai de -l até +l e descreve a orientação nos eixos, x (horizontal), y(vertical) e z(atravessando o eixo perpendicular de x e y) e também a quantidade de orbitais para cada nível e subnível, também. spin: indica a direção de rotação do elétron na sua camada. O elétron roda em volta de si mesmo e em volta do núcleo. Cada orbital acomoda, no máximo, 2 elétrons. Para um orbital receber seu segundo elétron, todos os outros orbitais, de -l até +l, devem já ter recebido seu primeiro elétron. Os dois elétrons em um orbital possuem direções opostas.

2:56 If n cannot be zero then it is not an integer. It would be a natural number.

As an exact mathematical expression, what you mentioned is correct. But this does not negate its description as an integer, and I mentioned that we excluded zero and negative numbers.
