Still really like the Quantum X. It is easy to use very easy to clean and really does a great job on all floor types. Wet pick up works great as well. So after 6 months I still really love my Quantum X. After using canister type water trap vacuums for years this gives me water technology in a all around easy vacuum to use. Hope this helps.

I sold rainbows over ten years ago. I thought they were the best until I saw a test where flour was poured beneath carpet on concrete. The Rainbow was unable to pull hardly any of the flour up through the carpet. It was very disappointing because the concept is so ingenious but alas, has many inherent flaws. Also, the airflow at the unit (where hose attaches) was somewhat high (80ish CFM) but at the power nozzle was under 20cfm. This means that it only pulled out the dirt in the carpet fibers but nothing beneath the carpet. It is because the air path is to long. By the time the airflow is measured at the carpet it has dropped speed significantly through the hose and wands. Also, if you ever do try a dry-unit again, make sure you get a sealed system. A sealed system is just as important as having a HEPA filter. I use a Kirby these days. It does remove all of the flour from beneath the carpet in the same test the Rainbow was put through. And even if the bag clogs up, the fan generating all the airflow is pushing the air into the filter, not pulling the air through the filter (the bag) so it’s really not a relevant issue in the Kirby’s design. The fan is inches from the carpet so even with a full bag, it maintains 80% to 90% of it’s air flow. Still though, this Quantum vac is a neat design. I wish Vacuum Wars would do the same test with the flour he did used on the Rainbow and Kirby. This might be worth it since it doesn’t suffer from the long air path like it’s canister competitors. Also, a tip - you may need to ad water to it every 20-30 mins. We still use our Rainbow as an air cleaner and the Water evaporated to the point that a lot of the air was not being forced into the water which defeats the purpose. I have to ad water every 30 mins or so. It makes a great air purifier especially amongst the covid 19 pandemic. We add an air sanitizing chemical to the water to kill germs in the air and you could probably add it to your Quantum as well. It’s a Rainbow product. Check out Goodvac.com under rainbow chemicals. It’s the green deoderizer. It’s a full cap full per 2 qts so a half cap full in your Quantum X. Sorry for such a long rant. Just my two cents plus some.

Very informative thank you so much for sharing this it is quite helpful. I do really feel the Rainbow has priced itself to high for most consumers to justify. I agree the rainbow is a fantastic air cleaner. I also find the quantum x really has strong air flow right at the floor where it is most important.

I hope you have better luck with yours than I did with mine. I had mine for 10 months and have had to have the entire unit 3 times, the power head once and the body once. When the Quantum x works it’s great! I had my Rainbow for 15 years no problems. I have had my Shark for 6 years, no problems. The Shark is still the one I use when the Quantum is not working. I would not recommend this machine to anyone. I will be looking at going back to the Rainbow.

Thank you for your video. We have owned Shark vacuums for the last 15 years. we have gone through 3. they have been damaged by my cats chewing the cord(unplugged-still have my kitties). The latest was an Apex Duo clean which we loved. My daughter who has Downs loves to vacuum but isn't careful about what she vacuums and so I have spent many moments removing socks, t.p. rolls, wadded tape by using a hanger for hose clogs. other clogs are more readily cleaned with the removable parts of the head or connections. This one bit the dust when she vacuumed water with it. Would the Quantum be easy to unclog? how is it with stairs?

I've never had a clog yet. I don't have carpets on stairs however using the hose and floor attachment I would think it would work well on stairs. Thanks for watching

Awesome review, I just purchased one arriving soon. Quick question, what makes a vacuum “upright”?
@MiamiCOIndiana4 жыл бұрын
Mainly 2 types of vacuums upright meaning it stands up and is mainly self contained and canister or tank that you pull along as you go and have a long hose and power nozzle to sweep with. You’ll love the quantum x easy to use and works fantastic. Thanks for watching

Great review, MiamiCOIndiana! I'd love to get a new Rainbow, but the cost is prohibitive. I like how thorough you were describing why you like this upright and everything included with it. It looks a lot easier to use than a heavy canister! One question: Do you dump the dirty water in the toilet or toss it outside? You have a marvelous speaking voice and I await more reviews.

MiamiCOIndiana, you're welcome. Did you consider their canister model?

I actually always preferred using a upright since I find them easier to use not to mention lots less to store. So I was excited finding this one with both water filtration and upright. I’ve heard good things on their canister model but can’t say never used one. I just used my quantum x today and love how easy it is to use. No more dragging heavy canisters, hoses all around just grab my quantum out of the closed put water in it and start cleaning.

I owned a rainbow since 1995 and still working.. I know exactly how it works since I was a dealer.. it uses a rotating separator to extracts the air from the water.. I wonder what technology quantum x vacuum is using to separate the air from the water.. I’m kind of interested
@MiamiCOIndiana4 жыл бұрын
The Quantum X also uses a air/water separator.

How do you clean the vacuum cleaner? Or would u need to clean it? With my dirt devil I’d have to take apart the headpiece using a screw driver then take off the roller brush along with the belt and then cut at all the hair that got stuck in the roller brush (my hair is long and thick) all before packing it back up in order for it to clean optimally. Do you think that would be something I’d have to do with this vacuum?
@MiamiCOIndiana4 жыл бұрын
I clean the water tank with just warm water. The water air separator only needs cleaned occasionally which is one screw to get it off and washed with warm soapy water and a brush. As for the roller brush I have never had much of a build up at all besides some carpet threads that I simply was able to pull off the roller. And best part is there are no filters to wash or clean with the Quantum X. Hope this is helpful.

Roberta Butler As long as you rinse out water basin and dry it out with either paper towels or micro fiber cloth should have no mildew build up. I always rinse out the basin and dry it after every use. Also leave the water basin OFF the machine until the next use to assure it gets completely dry. Hope this helps.

I just got mine and it has so much air blowing out the front it blows my curtains up thats not good it is blowing dust in the air. Is this normal? Also how do you take the seperator off I did remove the nut but the basket thingy won't come off I do not want to break it? Thanks for any help ... Im thinking about returning this thing
@MiamiCOIndiana4 жыл бұрын
It does blow out hard because it intakes air hard. Try not pointing the exhaust towards things like curtains. Also you can clean curtains and remove dust out of them with your quantum x. As far as the separator after unscrewing and removing the nut, a gentle back and forth motion while pulling should release it quite easily, at least it does on my unit. Hope this is helpful.
@Cleaning_Hero4 жыл бұрын
Corinne Lavallee you said it’s blowing out dust or was that a question? If it’s blowing out dust the only way that would be possible is if you didn’t put water in the water tank. OR, you vacuumed up so much dirt that it became mud-like and due to that, lost it’s ability to capture dust.
@maryelizabethashley64343 жыл бұрын

Get you a splatter screen like the ones you put over a fry pan on the stove only just use this for your vacuum water. Get a big enough bucket to put the splatter screen over the bucket and pour out your dirty water thru the screen into the bucket. The screen will catch most all the hair lent and dirt. Then just lift the screen over to the trash and throw it away. The water then is safe to be flushed in a toilet, or you can take outside with almost all the debris gone just mostly liquid dirty water to dispose of. Hope this helps.
@Cleaning_Hero4 жыл бұрын
You can also buy a kitchen sink drain screen at Walmart that will catch all of the solid particles. Pour the water through it and then tap the screen over the trash to trash the solid particles and dirt. Then you can put it in the dish washer on high heat if you want it sanitized.

How can this FAR exceed your expectations when you used it for less than 2 minutes out of the box? I’d tend to believe this more IF you owned it for a week or better a month, and gave pros and cons. Even the best vacuum cleaners have cons.....this one weighs 19 pounds for instances. That’s a BIG con for many! I had a rainbow for years. Loved it. As you said, your rainbow lasted 40 years? We have NO idea how long this will last as you never covered the quality of the vacuum or the parts. Ex. Those hoses, look a little cheesy. How long is it warranted? How much to ship back if we don’t like it ( I read it can cost as much as $ 88 to return? Why didn’t you show us all the features? It supposedly is great for picking up wet stains like wine, or even ketchup using hot water ( poured on the stain) and the fabric nozzle. And remember, MANY have no idea why water is better! Why not show how you can actually dust many types of items with a water filtration system using the brush attachment. If you plan to continue reviews you need to learn to use a video that allows you to film, stop, film, stop so your viewers can see a long time period. Again 2 minutes just doesn’t help me at all. Also it sounds VERY loud!!! Is it more or less than your Bissel? These are things I need to know before I will buy something online, especially if it’s going to cost a fortune to mail back!
