I’m sick and tired of watching kids and even adults. Throw their stuff on the ground it just makes me sick to see that it reminds me of a commercial that they used to show in the 80s with an Indian walking down the street and seeing all this trash and the tear is coming out his eyes rolling down his face because this country when they had it, it was so beautiful we take it over and we just screw everything up. It’s a sad world we live in. We should go out every weekend and clean up our neighborhoods unite as one it will take a little while, but we could probably do it in a year or two if everybody joins in I’m disabled I’ll do my part. I’m always picking up trash as I walk along John from South Jersey in the US the good part of the state lol

I have been to Haiti many times on mission trips and the whole of Haiti is far worse than what I just saw. Haitians' idea of garbage disposal is "throw garbage in any street where others have thrown their garbage." Garbage in Haiti is on every street on every street corner and worse of all in the very ocean that surrounds the island of Haiti. From time-to-time street garbage will spontaneously combust and then there will be the odorous smell of burnt garbage throughout the cities which adds to the already dreadful plight of the Haitian people. The only solution that I have seen to their garbage problems was to teach the kids while they are young to better the garbage problems in the whole of Haiti.

I worked in Bangladesh for seven years. I tried several times to setup a non-trash environment for a facility I was staying in that housed over 100 people at any given time. It served as an experiment for a cross section of the population. My results were that no matter how hard I tried to educate and keep the place clean by example, most of the people just continued to not care by throwing their trash directly on the ground. We would setup cleanup walkthroughs on the grounds at the end of the week and within 3 or 4 days the trash would be back on the ground. It’s unfortunately a cultural thing passed on from generation to generation. All the hard work these volunteers are exhibiting are to be commended, but sadly it’s just not sustainable until a major culture change occurs. It’s a shame because the country could be so beautiful🇧🇩

I m grateful to live in Singapore, a clean n green country. We are trained from a young age not to litter. Even when we are outdoors, we dispose our trash properly in bins or bring them home for proper disposal. Those caught littering in public face high fines or are sentenced to community service. Keeping our environment clean has become an ingrained habit. I am glad to see the BD Clean initiative producing positive results for Bangladesh. Keep up the good work.

In New England, USA, where i live, it used to be rare to see trash outside anywhere. Now, because of all the immigrants coming here, the litter is much more common, those of us that grew up here are very caring for the environment. @@olenashakhraichuk8766 My own country had to become aware of littering starting in the late 1950s and 1960s. At first some of us kept our old habits...but eventually we all became aware of our bad habits with time (not a long time). Now we are aware when a piece of tissue goes astray. We are still not perfect but are better by a very high percentage. You just naturally pick up the good habit and it becomes second nature. Good luck and thank all the young people around the world! Wish I could be young and there to help! It's very moving and gives the world hope!

There should also be parallel behavioural reforms so that this problem doesn’t repeat itself. Also health and hygiene considerations for the volunteers. Tractors can also be utilized to avoid inadvertent health risks for these volunteers. Water suits will also be handy. Promote plastic litter-savvy industries. Start with the children. Use schools as platforms. Utilize the media as a campaign platform. Incentivize good behavior and results. Make it a public policy priority in close partnership with the civil society. Together, so much can be achieved. This is an intersectional problem which requires intersectional solutions.

Doesn't work like that. You can't blame people of Bangladesh. There is no public trash pickup, no place to trash it and no place to destroy it. If you want it to be removed you need to pay. Remember in this country people have barely enough money to eat. The only responsible of this is plastic producer who make there the money they stopped to do in Europe where single-use plastic is banned. Single-use plastic should be banned worldwide otherwise this will never end. It's petrol plastic producers and gouvernement corrupted faults, definitely not people of Bangladesh. And it's the same in all south-Asia.

так вьі видели, как они палками толкт мусор вниз по течению, он просто попльіл дальше, в соседний город или море. И даже тот, которьій собрали, просто вьівалят в мешках в поле, у них нет систем переработки мусора. Почистили реку-загрязнили поле или лес.
