Long time fan of the channel. By most accounts the biggest upgrade on the G4 from the G3 is the new cpu and the availability of an 83 inch MLA TV. Some of the perks of the G4 are, the interface is more responsive, better motion and picture processing. It's probably their biggest marketing angle for the TV since the industry seems to be more focused this year on video processing and of course brightness. Omitting this information is not fair to your audience. Is that worth the difference in price or is it actually better is another matter altogether.

I appreciate your perspective however, motion is identical. As is clarity regardless of chipset. The interface is not more responsive. It's equivalent. There's nearly no difference. The only real difference is brightness. I understand the feeling of wanting fairness. In the interest of fairness, have i ever lied to you? You've been a long time fan. I urge you to save your money and get the G3 or just wait for the G5 to show more of an upgrade than 100 nits extra with some gimmicky Ui features. Ultimately the choice is yours, but im telling you, the G4 is just not worth it.

I have the G3 and NO it is not as washed out as AV Forums had in their video. It's way more colorful and almost matches up to my Sony A95K. I just don't like how LG produces the color red, but you wouldn't notice it unless you had the TVs side by side. True if you shoot for "accuracy" then it can look cold and washed out but that's with any TV; even my A95K. I like detail and colors to pop and once I did some adjusting, I can get it near the colors of my A95K. Sony is king in processing (and high pricing) and because of that, I'd never purchase a Samsung because their processing is trash (I had a S95B and S95C that I gifted). If you want QD OLED, the Sony is the only way to go if you're a pixel peeper like myself; but it's going to cost you. If not, then good luck with the Samsung panel lottery.

Ummmm ok. It’s a woled panel. Faulty hardware masked as software firmware issues. This is why G4 is heavily discounted on partner store. Game mode is brighter on G4 but you may have hdmi issues. Also you lose atsc 3.0 tuner.

The Samsung QD-OLED panels are the best at the moment. The G4 MLA panel is a good attempt at getting close but it's still a fair way behind. I'm not sure how LG are going to respond to QD-OLED but I hope they can.

I get what you're saying, but color luminance is up over 10% on G4 vs G3. Im an image quality snob and notice a difference. So your mileage may vary. I think you're using mainstream consumer standards for a premium product. Sure, WOLED is on the way out. I went today to look at the LG G4 and samsung S90D and S95D. The G4 is crisp and so bright. I didn’t see anything negative about the TV. Compared to the Samsung it was fairly similar. Although the S90D did seem brighter. I’m most likely getting the G4 55” as I’m a gamer and the dimming affect from the G3 really makes me annoyed.

I believe that Samsung display which developed the Quantium Dot Oled has a patient on the technology. This makes it hard for other display manufacturers to use this technology. Apple in their new IPad Pro use double stack Oled in order to bring up brightness and color volume. I don’t know how well this would work in a 65 inch Tv.

I think if you bought either the G4 or the G3 you would be happy. If you can get a G3 for a good price do it. I think it’s not just about brightness between the two being minimal it’s an overall improvement with the new video processor. I have owned both Samsung tvs and LG oleds and I prefer the LGs. I also have been installing TVs for 25 years and still do. I prefer the LG oleds over the Samsung TVs. Something a lot more natural about the image and colours. I also hate the newest Samsung interface. I’d much rather buy a Sony QDOLED or LG G or C series anyday. I installed a Sony last week and straight out of the box on standard broadcast TV it looked amazing. People get too caught up in specifications and brightness. I much prefer natural blacks and think the G4 is easily bright enough. Some TVs can be too bright and give you eye strain.

Get the G4! Just got the 83" G4 and it's jaw dropping. Upgraded from a 65" G1 and initially got the 77 A95L and had some issues with the panel so returned it right when the G4 was released so figured I'd try it. Picture quality on the Sony was incredible but tried the G4 and it's on par or better in certain areas, especially gaming. There will always be pros and cons but bottom line the G4 is an amazing TV that's super bright with vibrant colors, unlike the washed out so called G4 images shown on this video 😂😂

G4 is a huge upgrade in image quality, the new processor and tone mapping algorithm blows the G3 out of the water. I also demoed G4 side by side with the S95D and S90D. S90D immediately is the dimmest even in dynamic mode with active tone mapping, makes high graded content look flat and washed out. The S95D is much more competitive but the coating just takes away the sharpness when there's any ambient light. The G4 is the clear winner and the only one available in the much more cinematic 83".

Hello, thank you for telling the truth here on KZbin. I've had the LG G4 65 for two days and am currently comparing it with my LG C3. The biggest problem that the LG D4 has is that the display (panel) is not black. Even when switched off, the LG D4 isn't even black. As soon as you watch a film with letterboxing in a bright room, you will recognize the problem. It doesn't look like an Oled. It's more brown and gray. That's why everything doesn't look good. So I’m no audiophile or videophile but I generally buy higher end. The last TV we purchased was about 10 years ago and it was when Ola was hot off the press (LG). My fiancé is quite the gamer but it’s mostly adventure games like BoTW (Switch) or occasionally something “twitchy” like Ratchet and Clank (PS5). My nephew visits sometimes and plays shooters. we also like to watch him play his Quest by streaming to the TV. I don’t play games but I like watching a movie on a streaming service or just keep updated on a KZbin series. Went into Best Buy to see the G4, C4, S90C, and S95C. The Samsung definitely has more vibrant colors but they don’t look “real” to me. It was like someone gave me alien eyes. This might be good for games though. The image from LG TVs look more real to me. My fiancé loves the Samsung but I’m leaving towards the LG. Cost is equivalent at this point. Y’all have any recommendations / something we haven’t considered? It may be worth noting that we use Apple TV - I got really fed up with LGOS and the LG crappy Wi-Fi in the model I bought.

I bought the c9 55 inch display model for myself instead of the cx after it launched, as i got a great deal. However, judging from the comments, there might be a reason to prefer the g4 with its extra premium over the g3. But it all depends on your use case. Since I am getting the 65" G series for My grandma primarily for the oled screen and flush to wall design, a g3 model if I find it will be great!😊

Wow, so you take footage of other youtubers, then wash out the colors and then show your photoshopped and enhanced Samsung footage in comparison. That is very lame mister. Also you are very very wrong about those recommendations. All of them say: If you have the G3, stick to it, if you can buy the G3 for 300 less than G4, go for G3, but if the price is right (as it is right now, G3 and G4 costing almost the same) just go for the newer model. Also with your Samsung: yeah it is technically a little brighter, but only under laboratory measurement. AAAAAND: The Samsung costs about the double than the G4. So yeah it might be slightly better, but is it worth 4000 bucks instead of the 1900 i paid for my g4 (65'' Size) ? Surely not, i'd rather use that money on a holiday trip and (since that is my assumed tv lifespan) will buy a really good new tv in about 10-15 years time. All my TVs lasted for at least that amount of time. Within 3 years time, I see Samsung tech way ahead of LG tech, due to the architecture of the panel, if LG doesn't evolve. I hope sony gets to some superb result someday, because Sony is the pinnacle of durability in electronics. Speaking of durability.. Samsung is at the moment quite the opposite, so I hope you will have fun with your (waaay too expensive) Samsung for more than the guaranteed 2 years. Sony never ever fails, LG is great, Samsung is utter shit. Final words: I like critical reviews etc. but i hate dumbass lying like you do.

You could literally say this about the S95D, S90D, C4, B4 and so on. Most new TV’s are just incremental upgrades from the TV’s the year before, you’re hardly telling us something we don’t already know. If you’re on a budget buy the premium model from last year, and if money is not tight then buy the newest model provided the reviews are positive.

The S95D is over 2100 nits vs 1700 on the S95C. The S90D is also substantially brighter in all the small highlights making sdr more impactful. The C4 is substantially brighter than the c3. The b4 is the only model you can say this with. But notice how most of the models in your rebuttal are lg woled tvs? Lg is outdated.

Just when I think I've decided on the G4, your video comes and sows doubt all over again. I am looking at the 83" though, which I don't believe the G3 has MLA at that size. I might just wait for next year at this point since Sony didn't really release a new OLED this year.

I have a 55" S95B and 65" Philips OLED908. This PhilipsTV uses 1st gen MLA-OLED from LG. When comparing them with HDR content I can clearly see that S95B is better with colour. There is much more colour-pop specificaly when seeing red objects. But MLA-OLED is clearly better with brightness, but it still feels kinda underwhelming because this TV lwas 2x the price of S95B. On the other hand Philips TVs are the only TVs on the market that offer SDR to HDR conversion. This works so good that I get a feeling that SDR content looks better and more colourfull than actual HDR content.

The G4 is the best oled tv in the world but for those who don't have the cash to get it they still can keep their CX C1 C2 C3 G2 G3 because all these tvs are very good, even when we know that some of them are brighter than the others but the brightness of all these tvs are not bad at all, i mean it's not like when we watch contents in these tvs we see nothing, nope... They are all bright enough to watch everything, i got a c1 and when i play with my settings i can my tv brighter enough and colorful so no need of G4 right now as i don't have the cash to get a G4... So for those who got oleds before 2020 then it's time to make an upgrade between the 2020 and 2024 oled tvs...

I had to return a samsung S90C because it had a flicker, so I got the G4. I have two LG CXs. The samsung was so much brighter. I will get one in couple months.

I was about to get a Sony, but saw the burn in problems, I currently have a Sony & LG TV's, the picture quality of my Sony has deteriorated but my LG has stood the test of time. Maybe it's just the luck of the draw 🤷‍♂️

the difference maker is the new processor 11 vs 9 which is a big difference and the 100 nits brighter - these two things do make a big enough difference for someone that is in the market for a new TV can you be okay and get a great deal with the G3 then no need to upgrade but for those that don't well it's not unreasonable to by the G4

I heavily agree. There’s youtubers saying the g4 beats the qd oleds, and gives more vibrant colors. Tech with KG wouldn’t admit qd oled was still superior. It’s always just “you’ll be happy with either television.” It’s really fucking simple the only benefit woled has over qd oled is longevity. Qd oled is objectively superior and has 3-4 times brighter colors. U know how bright woled white would be without the white subpixel? 400-500 nits.
