Excellent video and series on the French Broad River. You and your wife are very lucky to have a hobby you both enjoy and can do together. My ex-wife didn't like paddle sports. Haha (see what I did there) That was a joke....(she just didn't like me). Enjoyed watching these videos.

I have thoroughly enjoyed your French Broad series. Im paddling Bent Creek to Riverside on Sat. Did I understand you to say that Pearson St. Boat access near FBO is a public launch or would it be better to take out at Craven St.? Also what time do the crowds start hitting the French Broad per your experience?

Yes, it is a public access. There is signage saying such. it is fairly new, RiverLink received a $25,000 grant from the Tourism Product Development Fund for this access point. The take out isn't one of my favorites because it is somewhat difficult to use and the parking is limited. I like Craven Street much better for a take out if you put in at Bent Creek although if you get there too late parking does pose as a problem since the river gets quite busy. I'd say the best time to hit the river is earlier in the day. Usually in the afternoon it gets a bit crazy and hectic. We like to get on the river about 9 or 10 am. Thanks for watching these videos and I'm glad you've enjoyed them. I hope they have helped you map our areas you'd like to try on the river.

@@Kayak7seas we had a great time today. You are right about the take out...with the water flow today, it was a bit challenging at takeout. We got on the water early and when we were done, the parking lot was insane at both places. Your videos were extremely helpful in planning this trip and future planned trips to the area.

Bent Creek does get very crazy in the afternoons I would love to see the parking expanded. Glad you had a great time. Did you take out at Pearsons Bridge or Craven?
