I was hoping throughout the video to be graced by the presence of the posh pups. I was not disappointed.

This is fantastic content 😁👍 I would love it if you could do a series of segments showing what you would do each hour of the day. It would also be really nice to see what the different duties and tricks of a hotel butler vs a private butler. Anyway, I just love ❤️ how you do what you do ✨😊✨

The ending made me laugh. :D Thanks for including the napkin folding. I'm so annoyed that I didn't know of your channel until recently -- your calm and friendly civility would have been a helpful addition to my life last year -- but better late than never!

My parents started teaching me at the age of five how to properly set a table, minus wine glasses because my parents are teetotalers, and I've started teaching my five year old starting yesterday because her birthday was Sunday. We're starting with things that can't break, silverware and napkins, and we'll add in glasses and plates over the next couple of months when she gets the hang of the easy part. Probably the unbreakable stuff we use camping to start with so she can learn how to be careful with stuff that doesn't break. We are teaching her wine and water glass though because my husband and I do on occasion, two or three times a week or so, drink wine with dinner.

I needed this info decades ago. My (fortunately ex-) mother-in-law made a big fuss about the importance of having a "real", fitted, made-for-purpose pad under the tablecloth (my family had always used an old tablecloth, folded in half). So, after we got our dining table, I found nice trim-to-fit padding at about one-quarter the price of a "real" pad. I was very pleased with saving this money, being of over one-third Scottish ancestry myself. ; ) When MIL quizzed me about the padding, I confidently told her of my budget-friendly find. She lifted my tablecloth and sniffed, "Well, maybe you can save for a real table pad in a few years." If only I'd been able to tell her, The Royal Butler says _old towels_ are used in the grandest homes in the UK!

My Granny, whom I was very close to, used to use a little salt dish with a spoon daily as did I before and after she died, sadly both were stolen from my apartment -so if you ever see a milky quartz little salt dish and a shell shaped silver spoon then they may be hers. Lovely dogs and lovely glasses by the way.

I loved it! I already love your tweets, but even more fun to see a video. Maybe one time you can show how you would help in the library type room after dinner when the couple or man of the house are sitting by the fire or sitting by the mantle reading, sewing, relaxing. Would you or how would you help there? It's later in the evening, after dinner. Just curious. Thanks, stay safe!

Hello- Just found you channel in the last couple of days- enjoying them immensely but just one (probably silly) question. On a round table should we not use a round table cloth so it has an equal overhang?
@CO18504 жыл бұрын
In the formal dinner setting you put the water goblet to the left of the white wine, in this video you put to the outside. Is there a difference with a less formal setting or because of the smaller table or just not so many glasses?

6:00 Beautiful glass... What shall we drink ? Château Lafitte 1985 ? Or Bourgogne La Tâche 1957 ? What's your opinion ? With this delicious Chicken sauteed with cream and wine i'd like to open a bottle of Pouilly Fuissé 1975 ! This is a wise choice... Is it ?

Thank you! 😊 The tricky round table again to set. 😉 Cheese knives... now you have me intrigued. I'm afraid my silverware does not run to those... And you were offering _poutine_? Did I get that right? We live close enough to Canada- I might finally try some after The Pause... And- I love the colour of your shirt and tie! Lovely and spring-like. 😊 We still have a bit of snow and ice left here.
