Spider seems to have a good relationship with Lo'ak as they played together a lot when they were children. They are seen together many times along the film; they seem to have a pretty good relationship as teenagers, with both usually making jokes or commenting about their surroundings, for example, when Kiri, Tuk, Spider and Lo'ak were spying on the Recoms in the 'old shack', with Spider telling Lo'ak that the place was in fact, where Quaritch and Jake fought years ago. Lo'ak is the one that insisted on saving Spider during the conflict and risked his and Neteyam's lives trying to save Spider, which leads to Neteyam's untimely death.

Spider and Kiri have been best friends since they were children.
