It’s quite different from SC2 and also very unfinished by comparison. SC2 has had a lot more development and it shows, but I enjoy both SC2 and KW and you can get KW on sale from Origin or Steam for $5 or so.

2:22:42 A refinery with harvesters constantly dumping (2-3 harvesters per ref, depending on how far the tib is from the ref) produces $4500 per minute. A tiberium spike produces $10 per second, or $600 per minute. So it takes 7.5 spikes to match a refinery with 2-3 harvesters. So a 3 spike advantage is roughly like a refinery with 1 harvester on a partly empty field. At the time, Eclipse had 4 harvesters on his 2 refs, so his field wasn't "fully saturated", and Lamas had 3 harvesters on his 1 ref. So at that moment their economies were very similar. On the map "Black's Bigger Battle", one position starts with 8 tib spikes ($4800 per minute) and no tib field. That position basically has a 1 ref economy.

Seen many tactics being used in many different matches from these top players. It's really fun to watch. My tactics in this game... building a massive army, and attack. Worked every time. But it's different pvp i think. Awesome caster too!

This tournament was vanilla factions only so no Titans. And most people don’t build many mammoths as by the time you get to late game you usually want juggernauts and a MARV first.

Recorded in 4K, but not downsampled, the video is also released in 4K. There's a couple of things that go into it. 90% of it is just running the game on max settings at 3840x2160. The game just still looks good. Next you can go into the Nvidia control panel or AMD equivalent, and adjust the 3D settings for the program. That's a small part of the look. A community member, Masterleaf, has been working on a 4K texture pack where he has up-scaled the original textures of the game, recreated some elements, and made a ton of graphical fixes. That's another part. Finally in the edit I make some small tweaks to the footage as a last step. I keep the footage bitrate high at all steps of the process so when KZbin finally destroys the video quality with it's compression at least I've done what I can to make it look good. The recording is 30fps the footage is interpolated up to 60 in the edit.

Currently playing the game again after many years, and your videos show what a high-quality remaster could possibly look like, great job! :) And yeah, I noticed the artifacts some cases (like for example when a pitbull suddenly starts moving or generally if there are many particles visible), but this is KZbin's fault obviously. Still, regarding the bitrate and compression you did a great job to get the best out of KZbin imho. 👍

Why are there more community maps for Kane's Wrath than for RA3? I only really recall one cast on a community map for RA3, but it's a pretty good chance that a KW game will be a community map. Is KW easier to make maps for? Is the community bigger?

It seems like every time I see Scrin they're losing which is a shame given they're my favorite faction from when I played this as a kid. Was nice to see Eclipse get some wins with them but I'm noticing that no one is building growth accelerators on their tib fields are they just not worth the investment?

Yeah, generally they don't pay for themselves. They cost $1500 and use 5 power, but have very little HP. The game has to go for quite a while and you have to maintain control of a field to get the value from it. However in team games they are more common often on the blue fields. Team games tend to be longer and your team mates can help you control fields. The finals involve some Scrin games that I think you'll enjoy.

I find that the players that do the best are the ones that play most like SC2 pros: focusing on economy. Expanding, protecting bases with static defenses, playing a little more passively and responding to aggressing with just enough defense to turn it away while continuing to tech up.
