The description of the process of trying the tricks and its relation to the spot and the setting sun and almost feeling less painful. It was poetic. The dude needs to write a book. The urge to grab his board one day over the other or feeling at home on the wall. Not to mention, he absolutely destroyed that wall long before the bulldozer tore it down. Some of those tricks were insane. Great video

crazy how much he understands this little wall of concrete and how his body relates to it. fascinating hearing him dissect the physics of how he does things.

Amazing to see Aaron own that wall. So impressive. I remember when the three parks were built. No one I knew skated West Park remotely like this when it opened. It was a warmup spot before hitting Ventura High School. Hope everyone out there -- Aaron, Lawrence, Angel, Little Justin, etc. -- is doing well. Angel's Oh No! premiere at West Park was legendary. Legend has it the driveway company was related to someone on city council or something like that. I remember going to a city council meeting where they asked us all to make models of what we wanted in the skateparks. Most of what we came up with was standard street park stuff. Many of us were upset when they made the parks they did, like it was some kind of betrayal. Just kept skating our usual spots anyway.

around 2009 5 points did a thing called "Ventura needs a real skatepark" we all skated from 5 points to city hall. nothing ever happened but it was fun to skate there with about 50 other skaters.

Lots of skateparks can't intentionally replicate this kind of thing. So cool when the random, least likely feature at a park becomes everyone's favorite.
