There's a small town in northern Missouri (?) that gained a bit of a rep, when the community got fed up with a criminal that law-enforcement either refused or was afraid of addressing. Investigations revealed nothing, but homeboy was never seen again the last time he showed up to be evil in that community. Not one neighbor said anything. But one fella, on his deathbed during a casual question about it, said something to the effect of "yeah, we took care of that problem" without any more details. Neighbors just smiled and said "that IS a mystery that doesn't add up, huh?", continuing about their business, when pressed about it. May she be surrounded by such a community.
