Is this product available as a diy kit? And how can we fill low spots in a garage floor that are about 1/4" to level it out before top coating?

Thanks for this video. I've recently just got my old balcony redone by a contractor and asked to apply a sand coloured decorative quartz. I notice in your example of the decorative quartz, which is also sand coloured, it uses a white base epoxy coat however for our balcony it looks like they used a darker/black epoxy base coat. Once they did the broadcast over the coat it all still looked the colour of how we wanted it to (sand coloured) however when they came to finish it off by sweeping the excess broadcast away and applying a top coat, we have been left with a very dark grey colour of our decorative quartz which is not sand coloured at all. I'm not sure whether the top coat is still drying and it will become lighter again but i was just wondering whether a white epoxy base coat would have been essential to retain the original sand colour of the decorative quartz and if you have any advice on how we could possibly remedy this?

Once the floor has been put down, you can't really change the appearance without re-coating the whole floor

Can epoxy-quartz mix be used in the terrace for leak proofing of water ingress to room through the terrace.
@learncoatings-epoxyfloorin94483 жыл бұрын
Yes it is a possible solution, but make sure you have the edges around the perimeter properly sealed. 90% of leaks are around the edges

I have a very bad concrete patio. I have seen a method where people use small rock and epoxy to make a cover layer. If I were to use this method, it would make the level to high for the doors. Can I mix sand with epoxy to apply a thin "skim" coat over the cement patio? Many thanks, Frank
@learncoatings-epoxyfloorin94486 жыл бұрын
you can apply thin skim coats, but you need to make sure that it will bond properly with the substrate. So make sure you have primed the substrate properly and that it has a good grit to accept the epoxy/sand coat on top

I find it tricky to screed the epoxy when mixed with sand! Any tips?
@learncoatings-epoxyfloorin94484 жыл бұрын
Usually less resin is better than more. I used to mistakely add 30% resin in the sand thinking that it was necessary. But I find that it is easier to screed with 10-15% resin

I have been an ardent follower of your channels. Thanks for the enlightening videos. The top clear coat on the beach effect is polyurethane. Right?
@learncoatings-epoxyfloorin94487 жыл бұрын
Jesse Sifuma thanks Jesse, yes correct it is aliphatic polyurethane
