...Damn why didn't I think of that? Cutting vertically that way instead of meticulously lining up horizontally. Doing that in the Mackerel for ages... probably because it still isn't sunk in that fuel lines aren't cuttable anymore. Bad memories 🤣

Brilliant. been having trouble with this. Front of the ship comes apart easily, but couldn't for the life of me figure out how to take the thrusters apart without destroying them. nice!
@darkspire913 жыл бұрын
I've been having problems with the thruster frame drifting into the furnace instead of the processor. Going back in like you're doing instead of front in did the trick.

I self taught myself this with 2 changes. I collect the coolant for an extra 357 credits per coolant (it adds up eventually!) then pop all 4 pipe cut points before rushing the flush switch. The second change is salvaging the lights after I've set the tethers to process the nanocarbon.

And here I was thinking you just have to get burnt sometimes. Worse yet I managed to get one of the long sections stuck in the mouth of the processor with no way of getting it in or out. This was like my third ship I ever played in the campaign tho, I've been careful about that particular thing since.

Third ship in campaign ever being an atlas? That's quite the challenge!

@@Serilia I just started playing this game and every time I finished one ship a new one was unlocked so far, It could have been a fourth but I really did encounter the Quasar thrusters VERY early on. And I got my class 2 reactor training soon after that, the progression seem fairly quick which I like.
@Serilia3 жыл бұрын
I've been playing the game for too long so my perception of progression at this point is all out of whack, so I'm glad to hear from someone fresher it's doing its job to welcome more people in! :D

@@Serilia Well the quasar engines ARE brutal ... I get burned pretty much every time which is an issue on the ship with 4 of them because that's death unles I manage to not get burned on at least one of them. Not to mention when they randomly send the entire ship a mile off as they split apart. But the rest of this ship is pretty small and easy so no wonder it's early game, besides the cockpit is WAY easier than the other small ships
@zer0teku2 жыл бұрын
grab and bang a cannister against the hull to rupture it with the grapple and then you can freeze all 4 and safely pull the thrusters and collect the cannister too
@C.Sharpe3 жыл бұрын
Every time I crack the nozzle off, the depressurization sends the whole ship out of the work zone unless I move the thrusters away from the ship. Which is weird because they're not supposed to be pressurized, right? The scanner usually shows red.
@Serilia3 жыл бұрын
Do you crack the nozzle *after* you've started working on the ship? It might be an issue with its weight ; if it's too light then it'll react differently. I don't think the nozzle detaching has to do with depressurization, but more specifically with two objects tighly locked suddenly detaching, which then causes physics to act up (if you're familiar with the tow-truck effect in the game, that's what would play into it)
@C.Sharpe3 жыл бұрын
@@Serilia Yeah, that might actually have something to do with it. I'll try cutting the ends off first thing next time. Also, it does appear to be some kind of depressurization, because it shows some atmosphere escaping when I cut the cut points. The game may not count it as that, but it definitely has the same visual effects

I have same problem. 3 of 4 thrusters is crack normaly. But one is send the whole ship in processor... Annoyng issue.

@MikalCaober2 жыл бұрын
This was helpful! I knew you could use cryo canisters to put out the fire, but I didn't realize they could penetrate the hull of the thruster. I thought you had to move them directly in front of the fire and then cut them with the splitsaw. Your way is much faster and safer!
@zer0teku2 жыл бұрын
grab the canister with the grapple and hit it against the hull and it will rupture then you can freeze all 4 by moving them around the fuel cut points and not deal with any fire issues
@Serilia3 жыл бұрын
Alternate technique with demo-charge: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4XJe6GfaKlpaKs You can also use one of the cryo tank and wiggle it around to freeze all 4 pipes, but I find this much faster and I wanted to demonstrate it's perfectly feasible to run down the corridor after triggering the fire.

@efugee3 жыл бұрын
You are doing this all wrong. You place demo charges on the red rectangle decals at the front of the engine, that blows the cut points. Use an xray to see them. After that you can take out the fuel, and work like normal.
@Serilia3 жыл бұрын
A) I have another video that suggests an approach with demo-charges (kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4XJe6GfaKlpaKs). This one is specifically without them, because they're not accessible right away and not using them is also much faster B) There is no wrong way to play this game. It's a puzzle with multiple solutions, I'm just suggesting an idea here for people to use it if they want to or face some difficulties coming up with their own C) Even under the conditions that you require a perfect salvage for the game to be played "right", I do not understand why you would consider this method wrong; it perfectly does the job o.0
@chasefielstra3 жыл бұрын
@@Serilia exactly. There's multiple ways of playing this game. There's no "wrong" way. It just depends on what your goals are.
@cragnamorra3 жыл бұрын
"Right" and "Wrong" aside, there's also the practical aspect that Atlas gets unlocked before demo charges. The method shown here (except without coolant either) is all that's available, as far as I have seen, while still in the single-digit levels.
