My wife and I went to Aruba for our thirtieth wadding anniversary. As you may have already guessed I am as country as corn bread. Anyway, we decided to go to this swanky restaurants, "formal dress", "not my cup of tea" for our anniversary dinner. Well they brought out a bowl of tomato soup with a piece of bread with cheese in the center of the piece of bread floating in the soup. My wife called it something I did not have a clue what she called it but to me it was tomato soup with a toasted cheese sandwich floating in it. I am sure it was not Campbell's soup. The waiter came by latter and and ask how was the soup. Well in my best "country hick voice", I said that is the best madder soup and toasted cheese samich I have ever ate. He started laughing went into the kitchen and he came back with the manager and told me, tell him what you told me about the soup so I told him the same thing. They both started laughing and at this point my wife was ready to crawl under the table. They went back in the kitchen and I could hear them laughing even from the kitchen.

Alright!😂❤❤❤it. Don’t y’all know that blew their mins. Your wife should of been honored, the waiter and manager were honored by your rural. Besides y’all were the only rednecks that came into the restaurant. They are still tickled about it and are still talking about y’all. That was awesome. Sincerely.

I made your tomato soup out of my fresh tomatoes. I have a 8 year old granddaughter that I have raised and she happened to be sick during my soup making and canning. She said Mama can I try your tomatoes soup. I said yes it’s so good. After eating her soup she said Mama I feel so much better now and this soup nipped her sickness in the bud. Ty so much

I make mine similar but once I open it in the winter I add 2 cups of milk to every quart jar of tomato soup then run it through the blender, heat and serve. Your right there is nothing better in the winter than your own tomato soup.

OMgosh,I have so many paste tomatoes after canning an overwhelming amount of salsa, I was tempted to give them to my chickens. I am so glad I did not cuz I love tomato basil soup!! God has blessed me with this produce and by golly, I am so glad I came across your channel so as not to have wasted it. I also did not know what to do with my basil cuz I must be somewhat dumb. I grew it for my kids but they have all they wanted and there it sits. Waiting to be put into that soup, I guess! Thank you!!

I make mine with Cherokee Purple tomatoes. I cored the tomatoes but did not remove the skins. After cooking it down a good while, I pureed in batches in my Vita Mix. Seeds and all pureed. It’s now simmering with onions, garlic and the rest. I also add a pinch or two of cloves.

Thank you for the tomato soup recipe 😋 we made it today since we had an abundance of tomatoes from our garden and added extra basil. We used a mix of cherry tomatoes, heirloom beefsteak, and Abe Lincoln tomatoes, it was really good!! We blanched the tomatoes to get the skin off then used our magic bullet to blend everything together, seeds and all, then cooked in a pot until thick! Delicious 😋

I can a lot like you, anything that goes in jars boiling and has salt, sugar and/or vinegar usually get capped and turned upside down. The one difference that my Grandma taught me was to cover the jars with a heavy quilt to hold the heat for longer. I've never had any problems and still living at 68 yrs old😊.

I love making tomato juice all the time, but I would use a different strainer. It’s called the Westin Roma food strainer or the one I like is called Norro sauce original when you’re done the leaves and the seeds are all dry. You can actually make a ball and just whip them.
