I really enjoyed this video. This is exactly what I needed to get my finances under control. This will stop my mindless spending. Keep me on a budget. Thanks for explaining the features in detail and breaking it down. I will reference this video often. The features look confusing. I know it will get easier once I start using it on a consistent basis. 2021 is looking Brighter and Better! Thank You!

One finance offered a similar system. I was even able to direct deposit my check and transfer into these envelopes. Unfortunately, they deleted this feature. Which was, in my opinion, the most useful for me. This is why I’m now here ….

I set up an account but cannot select Bills or Savings or the cube - do you have an ideas why? I cannot figure out who to contact to answer the question. Is it just not available on the basic plan? What categories are you using for your cubes? Thanks so much! Can't wait for your reply.
@SmartMoneyMamas3 жыл бұрын
Hi Lisa! Bills and Savings Qubes will just be for Premium members BUT the reason you can't click on them right now is because the features aren't yet live. Bills Qubes should be live in the next few weeks and Savings Qubes don't have a specific release date yet. For my Qubes, we currently have: Groceries, Fuel, Household Goods, Auto Maintenance, Kids, Pets, Clothing, Dining Out, Family Fun and Gifts

Can you and your husband each have a cube card?
@porshaaaa2 жыл бұрын
Okay I need someone to clarify something for me: in the video she said that there isn’t ever any money on the card but then later she stated she had $300 in her Qube cloud that she had to allocate to different qubes. Until she sent the money to a qube, was the $300 on the card?
@michaelmandel34382 жыл бұрын
how can you use this with Uber and Lyft since you're supposed to connect your card to the app?
@SmartMoneyMamas2 жыл бұрын
You can just connect it like you would any debit card, but you'd have to open the Qube you want to pay for the ride from before calling the ride.
@carolynwilliams84283 жыл бұрын
Chelsea, Is this similar to a debit card? No consumer protections when making a purchase like a credit card? It looks like an interesting concept.
@SmartMoneyMamas3 жыл бұрын
It is like a debit card, but has more consumer protections because the cards standard balance is $0 unless you’ve opened a Qube or pre-authorized a transaction. So if a retailer tried to run a transaction without you authorizing it, it would decline. It’s actually why I like using it for online purchases - I worry less about the card number getting stolen.

It’s so funny that I’ve been researching for a few weeks some budgeting programs, but never came across ANY of these. Just things like Mint and other budgeting ones that focus on investing and force you to enter every thing painstakingly. Mint is a quagmire. The more info they had on me, the less I understood. Even researched digital envelope budgeting and only came across articles saying that some banks let you do sub-accounts etc. Only came across Qube accidentally.
@src4409 Жыл бұрын
I guess this is OK for people who can't stop spending and have no will power at all, but I want to keep my currently bank account and still be able to make purchases online with a card that I pay off monthly and get perks with. This is also not a good solution for people who live rural. Access to your physical money is important.

If you are just starting with budgeting, which is better to use YNAB or Qube? I saw your video on YNAB, was checking it out for the free trial and trying to set it up. I just saw this video and now I'm wondering which to go with.
@SmartMoneyMamas3 жыл бұрын
It really depends on your personality and goals! If you think you'll have trouble keeping YNAB updated and accurate and/or your main goal is getting day-to-day overspending under control, start with Qube. If you're more focused on long-term planning (preparing for irregular expenses) and have some spending discipline, YNAB is perfect. YNAB is a fantastic tool, but many overspenders end up overusing the WAM (whack-a-mole) feature and it becomes a game of constantly moving around money to try to cover spending mistakes, unless they can build a habit of updating and checking their YNAB regularly. Where Qube stops that unplanned spending before it happens.
@jessinprocess3 жыл бұрын
Looks like you went back to YNAB now. Not surprising, this looks like a gimmicky pain in the butt.
@SmartMoneyMamas3 жыл бұрын
Nope. My husband and I still very much use Qube. We've continued to use YNAB for long-term planning and sinking funds, but all of our day-to-day spending is done through Qube. It works very well and helps stay on the same page with those regular categories
@Londya2 жыл бұрын
You're right, it's a gimmicky pain in the butt. I dont see why all these youtubers have such positive reviews. Well actually I do see why. Qube makes sure they are fine, but the rest of us are left out in the dust. I'm going back to YNAB. Qube just gave me the mindset I need to make YNAB work for me again. I must have lost sight of it somewhere down the road, but I'm back where I need to be. Honestly, you don't need all those extra features of virtual cards, card locking, etc. with Qube when you have self-control with your spending. YNAB helps you build that. Qube just does it for you. I'd rather learn to fish than have someone fish for me, or however the saying goes.

I currently use Qube and I like the idea of digital envelopes. Qube advertises that your money gets deposited 2 days earlier with direct deposit… it hasn’t been in my case for some reason. My husband’s employer has always direct deposited into our bank every 2 weeks on the dot for years now. Ever since we decided to sign up for direct deposit with Qube, it seems Qube holds our money hostage for at least a couple of days. If it’s a holiday, his company makes an early deposit; Qube holds it for even more extra days after the holidays. His company never deposit money on the weekend, Qube does meaning they hold our money hostage. Even though the digital envelope aspect of it is nice, there’s quite a few headaches with Qube.
