A few tips we picked up along the way that are worth mentioning when visiting this region are:
1. First of all, having a car is essential as the region is relatively isolated.
2. Keep in mind that cell service can be spotty outside of cities and towns, so don’t be alarmed if you experience limited or no service in certain areas while driving.
3. When it comes to reservations, there is generally no need to pre-book or reserve activities. We found that there was ample availability when booking on the spot.
4. Lastly, this is a pretty French speaking region of Canada, especially in Quebec. It’s not as bilingual as you’d find in Montreal or Quebec City so be prepared for this linguistic difference during your visit.

Did you guys happen to camp there or stay at hotels? I’m not sure what to plan for housing there 😂

Yeah there isn’t a ton of options out there. We ended up staying in an Air Bnb in La Baie. We had to drive everywhere but I think that’s the case no matter what part of Saguenay you stay in. Hope that helps!

What month or time of year were you there?

We were there the first week of July in the middle of a heat wave so it was really hot when we were there (35°C-40°C)
