Which just makes Clan Mors even more AWESOME. They have true loyalty. -Gnawdwell is genuinely proud of Queek and still cared for Sleek enough that he supplied him with precious Warpstone to keep him alive where other warlords would cast aside a broken instrument. -Queek easily forgives Ska, where most Skaven are eager to punish/kill a subordinate for any betrayal or failure, real or imagined. And he keeps his promise that he'll always remember Sleek as he becomes the main voice in his trophy wrack he seeks counsel from. So he saved Sleek from his fear of being forgotten. -Ska is a total bro, nearly dying a dozen times to protect his master. -And Sleek knocks it out of the park, living long enough to realize that if Skaven could respect, even love each other and hold up their fallen to be remembered and honored instead of forgotten and hated, they could be the force to rival all the other races he believes they should be. I first loved Mors because of the cool red armor, but now I like them because, while they're not good guys, they're pretty complex for Skaven and are the few examples of comradely for one of the "Evil" factions. Apologies for the year late reply, but I do love talking about Clan Mors.

@@randomcenturion7264 clan mors’s rise to power was only possible because rats who were capable were respected, not suspected constantly, their army wasn’t supplied by an endless amount slaves to sacrifice in friendly fire (ikt claw) or to experimented on (clan moulder) nor did they have the riches of clan rictus that allowed clan rictus to train and buy out elite stormvermin, oh and they didn’t have ninja training either. What clan mors had was something none of the other clans owned, which was loyalty from the troops to their leader, and that loyalty was born out of respect

@Pixel Smile of course knowing who’s loyal and who’s not is a huge factor, but the mere existence of something called a “loyal skaven” is absolutely unheard of, the closest thing resembling loyalty is clan eshin’s “sink or swim” mentality of the strongest assassin becoming their leader, but clan mors is comprised of actually loyal subjects dedicated to their masters instead of constantly trying to stab em in the back

Actually I think in one of the books I think it's Rise of the Horned rat it's said Queek keeps Baron Albrecht Kraus hand's instead of his head is because he find's the Baron way to chatty and annoying. So he carries the Baron's hands because they don't speak. Just a funny little thing I remember but your theory could be another reason to why he kept the Baron's hands at all

Well.... No, maybe the originals but even before they first really summoned the horned rat, the albinos were already a thing, albinos are usually special vus of albino, so no wonder making them a special force

Queek is the epitome what Skaven could be with a proper environment. Also, I always had a little fan theory that Khorne decided to take an interest in the Skaven in order to mess with the Horned Rat, because that's what chaos gods do, and that Queek was initially chosen as an experiment to see if the Skaven could be influenced. Then, once Queek started taking heads as trophies, Khorne decided he liked the little rat fella. I mean, Queek fits (as close as a Skaven is possible) the definition of a Khornate warrior. Honorable (for a Skaven), bloody-crazy, head-taking, a mind for military tactics, honest (for a Skaven), loyal (for a Skaven), martial prowess, hates magic users, etc. Heck, since Khorne is the most likely to deal honestly with someone, he might have made a deal with the Horned Rat concerning Queek. Queek gets blessed by both, and whoever he appeases more gets him as champion. I mean Queek ascending to daemonhood as a Daemon Prince of Khorn would be awesome.

Hank Trim Honestly? They're too backstabbing to look at the long term. If the Endtimes hadn't happened, I think Queek would have pulled a Commander Farsight and broken away from the Skaven Empire with Clan Mors and turned them into an entire clan of warriors almost as good and bloodthirsty as him. Because no one would be able to top Queek in those aspects. And Clan Mors would follow him because he can do one thing no one else in Skaven society can do: inspire honest to gods loyalty to him. Scar is a great example of that skill. A Skaven willingly taking a dagger to the chest for his leader? That's unheard of outside of Queek's minions in Skaven society.

Hmm some rather smart tactics by Queek, having all these plans for the three planning to kill him. Somewhat uncharacteristic of him to use his head to handle those three. Luckily two were handled but he had to personally kill the third. Perhaps that was why it was so genius, no one ever would expect Queek to use his head(although it's arguable the skulls on his back were the only reason he made those plans)

Though Skaven typically speak in that skittering 'Yes yes like like quick kill kill!' fashion, I like to think that Queek is more controlled, booming and imposing like Skek-Ung from the Dark Crystal, who I wouldn't be surprised was partly what inspired the characters original design?

I'd be inspired too from a Skaven who is honourable, leads from the front, and loyal - all un-Skavenlike traits. Especially when you kill kill several hundred rats in a spat for him supposedly dying. And always be on team Queek, for if you plot against him he gets you in the end yes yes!

Yeah, and that is even weirder. Queek was able to inspire some loyalty in his Right-Hand-Guy, though probably there is a fear factor involved in that, but the fact that it took Sleek and the other guy say to Skar that Queek gave the order, Skar obeyed without questioning or hesitation says something. And there is the fact that Queek is pretty non-ambitious for a Skaven and is content with his position, and with the fact that Lord Gnawdell has something of a soft spot for Queek, going as far as to spoil and protect him, while occasionally send assassins after him to keep Queek on his toes.

As someone who's looking to get more into the skaven, but don't currently have the opportunity to really read any of the books, I like these more relatively in-depth character videos, because I hope that it will give me a better sense for what they're really like, how they really act, how they really think, how they interact. It's one thing to get some overview that mentions their behavior, but I'm also interested in the details, so that I can better get a feel for what exactly they would do when faced with a particular situation, how they would evaluate the options when making a decision, how their values and traits look in practice, but also how those traits and values can be compromised, etc. And so far, these seem to be the best videos for that.

Queek seems like he is actually fond of Ska. Is it just that he respects or considers Ska useful because he is loyal and Queek values that because he gets annoyed by all the backstabbing, or is it more like an actual friendship? Even though skaven aren't really supposed to have "friends". If so, is this ability to have friends yet another aspect of Queek's un-skaven-like manners, or is it more common than we might be lead to believe? Also, should I ship it?

Bonestash wasn't the name of the warlord it was the settlement under karak angkul where this took place...Or at least the part when you talk about the book thanqouls doom.Now the warlords name was rikkit snapfang who was actually killed by Queek when he abandoned bonestash because he didn't agree with what ikit was doing and the skaven that kritislik sent thanqoul to help retrieve the artifact was named skraekaul and he died because he tried to betray thanqoul.

I wonder if strength wise, is Queek stronger than an average adult human? It's always thrown around that Skaven are in that grey area of strength just above an adult human female but under an adult human male, but Queek was regarded as somewhat stronger and bigger (for a skaven), gets me wondering the the potential that Skaven have in Raw Strength. If they lift, will they get gains. To compensate for things like Dwarfs just getting stronger as they get older and Greenskins getting stronger and bigger the more they fight.

He is much stronger. I'd say he has the strentgh of multiple regular humans. As with chimps, they are smaller in stature than us but much much strong due to the natural density of muscles.

Yeah, I love Queek Headtaker, I think he's a Great Character, but Sleek is more tragic in a way, he went from the very top to just being an old, decrepit rat that will never be remembered for his deeds, I especially like when he says "we take so much from the dwarf things, why not we steal their love and remembrance too?"

Does this shit with Thanquol actually happen in the books? I don't want to actually read them until the audiobooks come out because they're so well done, but it seems hard to believe all this really important stuff about major character lore was trusted to a single writer doing novels, though the guy who started Gotrek and Felix is a wonderful writer, don't get me wrong.

What I don´t get: Why would dwarf gouger get an extra ability that grants armour piercing if it didn´t manage to get through Gorfang Rotguts plating?

Darthplagueis13 think it's explained in the video. Normal armour is no problem but the orc is so strong he can lug more layers of metal then anyone else. He a literal walking tank that carries around a statue let as a club.
