I have great respect for Adam as a singer, he's obviously very talented. But where I really find him as a stand out is having the guts to take on a new audience in every city. 99% of the people at these Queen concerts have grown up listening to Freddie and that's a damn high bar to challenge, even with Brian and Roger playing besides you. My hat's off to you Adam, you're a brave fellow!

Let's face it, there will never be another Freddy M. Can you imagine how tough it is to follow up that act? But Adam can sing it! So impressive the way he involved the audience, he knows he isn't Freddy, it isn't his song. But he took the song he obviously loves and made it a special gift to the audience and they gave it to him too. What a talent! This was a joy to watch and hear. I know Freddy would approve. Bravo!

As someone who us not a big fan of pop music and never got caught up in american idol, i was leery of Adam Lambert being the new frontman for Queen. But I'd be damned if he's not the perfect "freddy" for our time. Of course Freddy Mercury was a god and he cannot ever be replaced. But they found a man who is everything Freddy was, just born in a different year. He talks to the crowd well, has a similar sense of style on stagel, he puts on a great show, and has the pipes to back it all up! not to mention he is a big advocate for gay and transgender rights, something very important in this day and age, and something i think any Queen fan can agree Freddy would be in the current climate.

Not good enough, I still believe there are people outside that could do a better job than Adams, lets face it, Adam can sing, yeah he can, but Im going to tell you something,HIS VOICE IS NOT FOR THIS KIND OF MUSIC AND IT ONLY RUIN THE SONG. Anyways, Brian and Roger, ¡perfect as always!
@sasha077757 жыл бұрын
Brian and Roger think they have the perfect frontman in Adam. "One of the great things about Adam is that he's never an imitator. He always finds his own way with the songs and that's what we all want. We want our music to be alive and dangerous and still open to change. Freddie particularly would hate to have thing reproduced the way they were. We take it to a different place, it's exciting. And I don't think we'd be doing it if we didn't think we were actually going into new territory and every time we work with Adam, we do that so I'm very happy." ---Brian May "It's been great with Adam - he's a camp Elvis," says Roger, speaking before he stepped on stage in Sydney, Australia. "He's completely different. The last person we'd want is someone impersonating Freddie. He's someone who is himself."Brian and I never expected to do all of this again, it's been unbelievable. "It's great, except this time we're actually getting good reviews." He has a lot of things in common with Freddie Mercury. He has an incredible sense of humour, which is very important, and he has an incredible vocal range - and those two things really make him perfectly fitted for Queen. It's a delight really for us. Rather unexpected - Brian and I didn't expect to still be working under the name Queen - but this is our fourth or fifth tour [with Adam Lambert] now and we've found ourselves absolutely loving it. "His presence and charisma reminds me of Presley in so many ways, the look, the showmanship, the overtly sexual attitude." Although the 65-year-old musician noted Adam's resemblance to Elvis, he also admitted he thinks the singer is extremely similar to original Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, who died of an AIDS-related illness at the age of 45 in 1991. He continued: "He is absolutely scintillating on stage, a voice in a million, and the same was true of Freddie. There are almost frightening similarities, especially socially, as an overtly gay man full of wit and banter." Although Adam insists he has not "replaced" Freddie in the band - which is why they are billed as "Queen + Adam Lambert" when they tour together - Roger revealed he feels much closer to the late singer when he is performing with the singer-songwriter because of their similarities. He said: "There are some moments backstage when it seems like nothing has changed at all."___Roger Taylor

Brian and Roger think Adam 's voice is more than suited for their music. Seems as though the fans do as well considering these are the kinds of tweets they send after seeing them: Before concert-So, taking my wife to Queen tonight. I'm not particularly excited, don't get me wrong love Queen, just not Adam Lambert. After concert-We will never speak of this again. It was Amazing! Mad respect for Adam now. Dare I say, I'd go again? Shhhh. In Omaha with Queen, ADAM LAMBERT proves there’s no better sub for Freddie Mercury. There aren't words for @adamlambert voice or the show Queen puts on! Had a great time at @QueenWillRock with my family. @adamlambert knows how to perform his heart out. Great time, great music!! "Wow I am just blown away!! Brian May and Roger - WOW! #Queen #adam-lambert this #may have been the best show I have ever seen. Awesome! #philly Adam Lambert does an amazing job of paying tribute to Freddie while still being himself on stage. He's incredible and respectful and awesome Having seen Freddie Mercury front #Queen say 10 times, I think he'd say the show must go on; & w/ the hyper-talented @adamlambert If you ever have the chance to see @QueenWillRock with @adamlambert, DO NOT MISS IT. Absolutely crushed it. Adam Lambert sings so effortlessly and tops it off with an insane stage presence, a Performer

How about the "we" being these fans who tweet to them after concerts: (Have lots more if you're interested.) I walked in a huge @QueenWillRock fan, walked out also an @adamlambert fan! @adamlambert What a voice & what a show tonight in Boston! Thank you! Interesting, but to be fair, @adamlambert might be the most perfect & credible choice Queen could have ever made. He IS a Champion. Turned on car radio to hear DJ's still gushing re: St Paul QAL concert-RAVED about vocals & showmanship. Called it the Adam Lambert concert @adamlambert wasn't a fan before tonight. You were awesome. Fan of queen, now a fan of yours. @omahaqueenconcertwithadam Couple at #QAL show saw Queen w Paul Rodgers. I said @adamlambert is perfection. Guy argues. After, he rates show "20 out of 10" Snap!! Hands down, best concert I've ever been to. May & Taylor still have it, @adamlambert is delicious & flamboyant w/ amazing range. #QALOmaha (From Instagram) When I bought my ticket to see @officialqueenmusic I will freely admit I was on the fence about @adamlambert. But no more. He is not Freddie. No one can be Freddie. But damn, the boy has pipes and is a consummate showman through and through. Brian & Roger clearly love him, and he clearly loves them. Thank you for impressing me, kid. The show must go on. I last saw Queen in 1986 at Wembley London, Freddy was awesome back then. I was happily surprised by Adam Lambert... I mean, I am not some idolizing youngster; I am older than Adam Lambert. But... he resonates deeply with me. @adamlambert Dude. Who Wants to Live Forever vocals tonitght... you killed it. Incredible. Freddie would be humbled by your performance. Thx Thank you @QueenWillRock for a fantastic show tonight! Loved @adamlambert 's humility, grace and pure talent! almost didnt go because I didn't know how I felt about @adamlambert After tonight, Adam Lambert has a new fan in me Freddie Mercury was a one of a kind but @adamlambert filled his shoes like no one else could. Amazing performance! #Queen Adam Lambert sings so effortlessly and tops it off with an insane stage presence, a Performer There aren't words for @adamlambert voice or the show Queen puts on! ROTFLMAO. You can think whatever you like, but none of it is based on facts. Brian and Roger are not replacing Freddie. If they were they would have just retained the name "Queen". This however is "Queen + Adam Lambert". Adam does not pretend to replace Freddie because they all know Freddie is irreplaceable. Marc is just a Freddie wannabe. "There's never going to be another, and I'm not replacing him. That's not what I'm doing. I'm trying to keep the memory alive, and remind people how amazing he was, without imitating him. I'm trying to share with the audience how much he inspired me." "To me @QueenWillRock is Freddie and I am a guest,” ---Adam Lambert
@nicks.126 жыл бұрын
@@sasha07775 Are you really rolling on the floor laughing your ass off or is that just a weird way of making yourself feel like your opinion holds more relavence than mine? I.e. your writing your response saying to yourself "boy I'm really going to stick it to him with this response" then think by prefacing the response with ROTFLMAO in big bold letters that it makes your response much more of a "wow I'm really, really going to stick it to him even more now that I added that!" Just curious because I always wondered why people do that. FYI, didn't work.
@sasha077756 жыл бұрын
joe smith I was, but that was awhile ago. I just have to laugh when people express opinions that are irrelevant considering Brian and Roger have the final word and they have the guy they want. They have said they would not be touring had it not been for Adam and that they will not play with anyone else. Can't argue with that.
