I think I read somewhere that there was a movie crew filming the Montreal ‘81 concerts and Freddie did not like the rules they were giving him and especially didn’t like how they were instructing the audience not to interact with the band during the performance. So Freddie did things to deliberately piss off the movie people, including gradually wearing less and less clothing as the concert progressed. Makes me laugh every time I see these videos!

The story behind the outfit (or lack of it)...Queen played two nights in Montreal....the production company wanted them to wear the same clothes on both nights...they wanted to combine the two shows for a video....Queen said “no way, we’ll wear what we like”....you see the result....one person on KZbin said, “my guy’s a lifeguard and he might go swimming later”.....so very Freddie....doing it his way...an absolute legend🤩

Freddie wore the shorts at this performance because the band was mad at the director who was filming the shows and he wanted to ruin the continuity. 💥 The fun fact about those shorts Freddie is wearing was that he was annoyed with the film production & security for telling the audience to behave during filming. It was a two-night concert so Freddie wore the shorts to break continuity with the filming cuz they were going to edit both nights together. Basically, Freddie F’d with the production! Also heard that the audience volume was turned down, too so it appears that the crowd is more quiet … not true for those who were there!! You always make my day Jamel! Thank you! I grew up with Queen. Such a tragic loss yet again in the music world. Freddy also was a cat lover and I just personally view cat lovers as special people🐱🥰. THIS song, even now, I crank up the radio in the car when it is on! RIP Freddy💕

Freddie would have become Sir Freddie if things had been different. The band were blessed with a wonderful frontman who will be remembered forever.

Didn't he kill himself? Its kinda hard to put some one like that up as a hero type. Just think how many more great songs he may have delivered if he had been taught how to use a simple thing known as a belt. Pretty stupid to me.

When you went to see them they’re always on point with there music and lyrics. Then you have the rest of the iconic band. R.I.P Freddie Mercury

I love your reaction. Freddie was one of a kind for sure. Sadly, lots of people only appreciate him now that he is gone. Love your reactions, Jamel.

I’ve been a Queen and Freddie Mercury fan since the early ‘70’s and I am glad that people who weren’t even around back then are appreciating Queen and Freddie now. That’s the enjoyable thing about art-it can be appreciated by anyone at any time. I think Queen’s music will continue to be loved long after those of us who have been their fans since the beginning are long gone.

For me this is their best song, I’m sure some will say they have more technically impressive ones etc, but I don’t give a sh*t lol it’s funky af

It was their biggest seller by far.

Some of their best selling songs were not their more complicated ones. There’s probably a lesson in that somewhere. :)

John Deacon was looking to add more Dance or Disco to Queen's music. He spent some time with Bernard Edwards of Chic, and the Bass riff sounds alot like the Bass riff from Chic's Good Times.
