The invisioned role of battleships, i feel like HMS Warspite is the only battleship that managed to carry out this role with results during both world wars. even though battleships were pretty much obsolete with the advent of a practical and useful aircraft carrier. She sailed with distinction way past the expiry date of battleships. I would say for such an old design it was a bloody good one.

Good video, which is interesting and has excellent content! Yes, from Drydock to Shipyard is a logical choice for me. Keep getting better and we'll keep watching, have subscribed and expect great things from you, no pressure intended.

I followed you here from Drachs too. That was a good history of the ships. If I can make one humble suggestion, slow your narration down a little and smooth out the pace of your delivery. It will help you avoid the stumbles from going too fast. I subscribed.

Did they keep their torpedoes after the refit? I am very interested in the history of these ships, especially the modifications, armour, torpedo bulges, power plants etc. Can't wait for more videos

i believe that, but don't quote me on this, the torpedo tubes were removed. Also, thank you for subscribing :) means a lot, and there is a lot more coming in the future

i have a question. which is truly the world first fast battleship, the hood or the QE ? if we go with the "faster then 25knot" designation, then i think it's fair to give hood the title, since QE's 25knot was not in usual condition
@TheShipYard24 жыл бұрын
see, idk, there classed back then as fast battleships because they were the fastest. so if you think about it, hood would be the first, going off fast battleships criteria in WW2 of the Iowa
@frostedcat4 жыл бұрын
@@TheShipYard2 we can all agree that hood was a magnificent warship, even by WWII standard
@13stalag134 жыл бұрын
The QE2 was classed as a fast battleship, while the Hood was classed as a battlecruiser by the RN.
@13stalag134 жыл бұрын

Another Drachonian here. He is the Dreadnought of all things floaty and boomy, but more quality content is always welcomed! Hint- at 0.75 speed you sound like a slightly drunken Drach. Work on enunciation, voice control, and sounding more conversational and less like you're reading a script. But that's some serious nitpicking- I'm a subscriber now! Congrats on the channel!
@TheShipYard24 жыл бұрын
oh dear haha, i can only imagine drach drunk haha. i will try on that front with the video im about to do. the original idea of it was like the briefs i give in work to command on tactical engagements or threat briefs

Uncle Drach sent me, but I can always use a good new channel. I like your work, my only criticism is your Captain Kirk style pauses between some phrases. But I'd like to be a nice guy and perhaps it's just your style.
