the old rules sated that members of the royal family could not marry a divorced person if the persons former spouse is still living and also that once the person turns 25 they don't need the monarchs approval to marry someone who is not of nobility. as said by someone else stated the rule changed in 2011 and the male primogeniture rule changes in 2013 meaning that Charlotte is not taken over by Louis in the succession and if in the future George has a daughter first she will be the heir without being outranked by a younger brother. the rule was not retro active though meaning that Anne will only ever be The Princess Royal which is her official title and never be the heir.

I agree that Anne would be a much better choice for monarch. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. I've heard many people say that because Anne appears to be the most intelligent, down-to-earth, kind, and best leader out of all the royal children. She reminders people of her mother as well. Edward is also very down-to-earth and very passionate about helping the poor and the performing arts, but I don't think he has the same abilities as Anne. I was once fortunate to meet Princess Anne and shake her hand. She had a vey nice energy about her. The main museum in my city had just had its main attraction the Spitfire Exhibit refurbished and the real Spitfite plane had been done up and put back into the museum and Princess Anne had come to officially open the exhibit. I was in primary school at the time so i was around the age of 8. One local primary school and one local high school got to go down an see the opening of the exhibit and one boy and one girl from each school got to stand out front and meet her and shake her hand. I was the girl chose from my school to shake her hand. She was very sweet as she could see I was nervous and i just remember her having a warm and relaxed energy around her. I also remember that she was wearing my school colour as well because she was wearing a royal blue trouser suit and my schools colour was royal blue. I am 22 years old now but that day sticks out in my mind forever.
