May the Queen Rest In Peace 🕊✨ but I am very heartbroken that Camilla is now taking the position that was meant for Diana. This is what has been on my mind the most. And how ironic, all this only 8 days after the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death 🙏🏼💖 Watch “Princess Margaret~ the scandalous glamorous sister of The Queen!” NEXT kzbin.info/www/bejne/oISunWN4jbp8p8U

Yes🙏🏿👸🏼 may Queen Elizabeth 2 rest in peace. I'm not mad that Camilla is Queen. At the end of the day Diana is still a part of British history. Her son William will become king one day after his father and her grandson George will sit on the throne and for generations to come her blood will be through every Royal person there. Camilla doesn't get to say the same. She got the man but she doesn't get the Legacy like Diana will have

When you say Elizabeth I, you are actually talking about the last Tudor queen from 1500s - 1600s. The recently deceased Queen Elizabeth's mother was not called Elizabeth I because she was just a queen consort and not a queen regnant. As in, she was the wife of the reigning king. The recently deceased queen Elizabeth was queen regnant since she inherited the throne, became queen in her own right and did not marry into it.

About the racism thing, what I found odd is that the Queen really liked Megan, and Megan really liked the Queen. In fact, after Harry and Megan left the palace, they said the Queen is pretty much the only person they still kept in contact with, and Megan has praised her as well. The rumors about racism against staff seems odd to me. If that’s true, maybe it wasn’t from the Queen herself? Just my two cents on the situation. She seemed to be in favor of Harry and Megan’s engagement and marriage, and their opinion of her shows she continually felt that way.

Very sad. Even though the Queen was complicated and not the best person, she seemed like she had England's best interest in mind. Something I learned today is that if an English Monarch has a daughter that is in success to take the throne then her husband will not always become the king, but if a son is to take succession then his wife *will* become a queen. This is to prevent the daughter's husband from assuming too much power without earning it. I feel like this is a very good feminist approach, ahead of their time.

From my understanding, although the Queen can appoint those into parliament, it’a sort of an unspoken rule that monarchs should not get “involved in politics.” By this, I mean that she doesn’t speak about her political opinions so she doesn’t influence any votes, and the members are chosen based on the publics vote. Even if she did not like the Prime Minister who has the highest votes, she would still approve of it because ultimately it’s important to follow what her people want, not her. This approach is probably why the monarch survived as long as it did. The monarchs of England have power (to appoint and even dismantle parliament all together), but they do not weld it to gain favor from the people.
@TititoDeBologay

As You said it's an unspoken rules. So they don't have to respect It. It is not enshrined in the Bill of Rights. There are no mechanisms to keep the crown from interfering. The unspoken rules is about them speaking PUBLICLY, That's It. They do not need to weld their power, simply because, the multiple prime ministers are loyal to the crown. They were all Eton, Oxford, Cambridge educated. Which is the British elite training chambers. Again very much loyal to the Crown. She didn't have to order Tony Blair to allow for the crown to hide 80% of their assets via shells company. He did it. She didn't have to tell John Majors to exempt the crown from Laws regarding Gender equality, workers rights, equal pays, racial discrimination. He just did It. The Mountbatten/Windsor.and the Crown have very much power and They very much use It as they see fit.

I loathe the fact that Camilla is Queen Consort. But in no way do I feel she took Diana's place. No one can take another's "place". If something is meant for one, nothing and no one can stop it. Charles didn't love Diana when he married her. He was heavily coerced into it. Oddly, he loved Camilla. Consequently, an unhealthy & unhappy marriage ended in a nasty divorce. I do feel Charles will put duty first and do a fine job as King. He has been groomed and trained for it his entire life.

Camilla is very supportive to Charles and makes him happy. William and Harry did come around when they saw how happy their father was. Pretty is not everything. Their racism not to mention how they literally stole from ppl...with their power. So yeah is the queen herself the issue? Not really. But it doesn't matter cuz she represents something that hurts ppl and I think it's time for the monarchy to go. I am not celebrating her death but not really feelings sorrow either. She was perfectly right to not get involved in politics or even to give her opinion on Diana’s death. She was the Queen when Britain was decolonising, was declining as a world power, and was in economic turmoil. She could have retreated from public life and been like one of the many Eurotrash royals around her. She chose to do her duty by her country and her Commonwealth and to be the first UK Royal to pay taxes. She couldn’t have been like Princess Diana. She was a product of her time and her culture, and we have to respect that. Her dignity made her beloved by non-Commonwealth and ex-colonised people alike. I can’t think of anyone who could have risen above controversy as well as she did. I’m very sad about Prince Philip’s affairs though. All I can say is that I’m very sad about her death.

People just get mad because she lived her entire life with a sense of duty and sadly people don’t believe in that anymore. We are selfish and we put our needs and feeling before duty. When it comes to a lot of very old married couples who have been married to each other for decades and deal with each other side by side every day when one of those spouses dies it’s not unusual for the other spouse who’s still alive to die soon enough afterward. That happens all the time. I’m not shocked that Elizabeth died a little over a year after her husband Philip died. She fell in love with Philip and chose to marry him and was allowed to marry him so she probably just gave up in the end.

@@Julie-qr9ow Similar with how she can appoint a prime minister, but in reality she has no say on who becomes Prime minister and just appoints who Parliament has chosen. It's all just ceremonial. In theory she does have the power but in practice it doesn't happen, she just does what she is told. Another example is the state opening of Parliament, technically the Queen opens Parliament with her speech, but the speech she reads is written by the government and it sets out their agenda, she just reads it. Back to the point, the last time a monarch refused to sign a bill was in 1708. There are debates as to whether it is necessary but essentially the royal family has little power. This is the same for most European royal families. It's all part of being a constitutional monarchy. There are however those in favour of the UK becoming a republic which will mean they will have a more powerful head of state but the monarchy was very popular under the Queen, only time will tell if that will all change.

A fact that not many people know about Queen Elizabeth is that 1) She wasn’t supposed to be Queen but her Uncle King Edward VIII abdicated and her father King George VI (who had a stuttering problem) ascended the throne; She became Queen at barely 26 years old because her father died from Lung Cancer at like 56 and 2) She was an Ambulance driver towards the end of World War II. If you do anymore members of the British Royal family, I would recommend doing either Prince Phillip (his early life is quite sad) or King Edward VIII. Also, you should watch The Crown because it’s pretty accurate. Correction: Queen Elizabeth’s mother was already Queen when her father was king (her mother was his Queen Consort) and when he died, Queen Elizabeth (Queen Elizabeth II’s mother) became the Queen Mother (which means the mother of the current monarch) and Queen Elizabeth II became Queen Regnant (which means Queen by blood). She also lived to see 14 U.S. presidents elected and met 13 of them (She didn’t Met Lyndon B Johnson)

One thing I like about KZbin is the history lessons such as this , We we’re never taught any of this in school( me 62 years old ). The “ Royal’s live so long because they eat well , and don’t do any hard labor like us common” people, they have the best Dr.’s , they are totally pampered! They can pursue their hobbies be it horseback riding or hunting or anything else their hearts desire’s . While us common folk can barely keep a roof over our heads no matter how hard we work. Not to forget all that stolen wealth and such . Anyway Thanks so much for the history lesson❣️🤔🙏🏾👵🏾✝️

Folks framing Britain ban of chattel slavery and gradual loss of colonies as if it was out of sheer generosity, is ahistorical, disrespectful and ghastly. Slavery was becoming too expensive, due to multiple resistance and insurrection from enslaved Africans in the Americas, in the Carribeans and on the African continent. Insurance companies didn't want to pay for the boats, soldiers, sailors and mercenaries demanded more pay. War is costly so they cut their losses and paid compensation...to the Human traffickers. People like David Cameron and Benedict Cumberbatch inherited from that blood money. Same from décolonisation, it's the blood of Indians, and Africans that paid for It. Not some innate leniency, from the crown. Same for Ireland, It's political advocacy, and Guerilla insurrections that made the Republic of Ireland, partly reclaim their sovereignty. Abuser just don't let you go out of kindness, because they have none.

Er, people seem to forget that when Diana was in that fateful car crash, she was with her new love, Dodi Fayed, the playboy heir to the Harrods department store fortune and more. Fayed was killed at the scene, in the crash as was their French driver (also something that seems to have been forgotten). Fayed was reportedly extremely keen on Diana, and it's quite likely he would've asked her to marry him. He'd dumped a previous girlfriend in order to pursue Diana when their paths crossed. Who knows whether Diana would've married Fayed, had he proposed. But if they had married, I think the public image of her would likely have been affected. And at the time, it seemed that she was embarking on a life lived abroad, and therefore away from the British public. It's quite likely she would've faded quite a bit from the public consciousness, if that had happened and she'd been living in France or Monaco or America for the last few decades. Yes, Phillip was a philanderer. It wasn't any big secret, it just wasn't splashed all over the tabloids with color photos. He wasn't like Queen Victoria's husband, Albert, who was always faithful and devoted to Victoria. Not a lot is really known about Phillip by the public, but he was very much trusted by the Queen and she relied on him a lot. I suppose, being a Royal, you'd be very well aware of all the affairs and mistresses of your ancestors. It probably came as no big surprise to the Queen, and somehow she managed to let it go. You also have to understand that generation, who were young people during WW2, a very different time with very different norms and values to now. So Phillip needs to be seen from that perspective.

Thank you for this video!! So interesting! I can definitely understand why people from colonized places are sour (to say the least!), about such accolades being showered on the royal family. This is no dis to Queen Elizabeth, god rest her soul. I also love princess Diana very much, but I don’t think Camilla deserves this kind of hate… maybe I don’t know enough about her or the situation, but perhaps the blame should lie with the man cheating…or even the system that discouraged the wanted partnership from the beginning? But to me the MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE is you are not allowed to say the word “racism”? Like what the actual fuck?!!! I hope I’m not getting you in trouble by saying this word as a commentator…but seriously I did not know this 😳

@BlackVenus that first sentence is incorrect. And if you truly believe that then you need to read up on some history because elementary and secondary school failed you. Slavery and colonisation is older than the Atlantic Slave trade and European colonisation, in fact it didn't start with Europeans. Why do you think Northen Africa is Arab? Why do you think viking artifacts and dna can be found all over Europe? Why do you think Italian art and Italian treasures sit today in the Louvre and not Italy? What do you think the Moors did in Spain and Italy? Every country was involved in harming another leaving lasting devastation. It precedes European colonisation.
