Love this Mick Rock interview. He had great respect for Freddie and his other friends and subjects of his fabulous pictures. Mick had class as shown by his discretion and respect for their privacy. Rest In peace, Mick. You left us a beautiful legacy.

Love Mick rock but he was definitely David bowies friend before he met Freddie which is fine but I think it's a tad irritating how he always insinuates freddie was a poser in the early days and bowies character was the real deal when it's quite the opposite. Freddie was being himself in the early years when David had to put on the makeup to become his character
@donnamariepassaro79913 жыл бұрын

Noooo! Freddie was not a poser!! Yikes!! Yes Freddie was himself!!
@georgesonm17742 жыл бұрын
But he does not insinuate it at all! On the contrary, he said that many people claimed Freddie and the band "jumped on the bandwagon" of glam image while, in fact, Freddie had always been the way he was

Thank you for this fascinating interview! Mick Rock has very astute observations on the whole androgeny phase of the early '70's (among other social entities), and he found a kindred artistic spirit in Freddie Mercury. I love his use of the word "florid" to describe Freddie. LOL. "Flamboyant" has been used to death, and 'florid" seems to fit better! I remember seeing a snippet of Mick Rock speaking in a documentary, and wanting more of this very interesting character! So thanks again for the upload.
