I was lucky enough to be at that Live Aid gig, and their success was something that couldn't ever be put across on TV or the movie. Every person to the very back of the stadium was clapping, hands in the air to radio Gaga, and swaying to We are the Champions. I looked back and could honestly say I did not see one single person not participating. I have been to over a hundred gigs, most of the big groups, and never, ever seen that commitment from a crowd before, not at any gig ever, and especially at one with 90,000 people. It was completely unforgettable and a unique moment in rock history.

saw a rare interview where Roger was talking about Freddie saying, we really didn't quite appreciate just how good he was or understand his brilliance back then, it's only now we all realize how incredibly talented and what a brilliant musician he was. And he said it made him angry when everyone is always talking about Freddie as a Showman because he was first and foremost an incredibly talented brilliant musician. then he said that he and Brian just thought of him like a brother who was always around and he was just a part of the fabric of their lives since they had all been together College and that it was only After his death that they recognize his brilliance and feel a huge void..... very beautiful and very sad and the first time I had ever heard that interview

Brian, in an interview, said he was worried Freddie’s voice would give out whilst they were on stage. He said, if they failed the stage (metaphorically) would open and its a long way to fall. Take a look at the Live Aid concert again, and catch the horror, then relief on Brian’s face when Freddie launches into his Aaa Oh. Queen actually sent out a roadie to buy giant clocks to put in front of them, so they could time their performance down to the second. While most bands at Live Aid got in 1-3 songs, Queen pulled off 5 songs in a near-medley due to them timing every single move they made down to the last possible second. To those saying the rehearsal was not necessary - The rehearsal was necessary as Queen realised that rehearsing the edits and transitions to fit it all into a compact flowing set were just as important as the songs (which they knew). This showed on the day and made the set slick and show up the others who had just sung their songs without this extra work.

You'd like to say this was "effortless" for Freddie, but you can see he puts in maximum effort. A man that never quit, until shit finally got the better of him.
