This video and song choice makes me think. Maybe Maeve does know something could take Homelander down she’s just afraid to act on it or can’t do it herself. That’s why he keeps her so close. Because he knows that she knows one of the only ways to take him down.

Maeve is the 2nd strongest supe, so HL thinks that she can relate to him in that aspect and that he isn't alone, but no, Maeve can't take him on or knows how to, that's why she's in the mental state that she is. She is the one who has known him for the longest time, maybe they are the same age, entered the 7 at a similar time. HL and her dated when she was still naive and innocent, but then experienced first hand all that HL did and made her do and the result is the nonchalant Maeve who doesn't care about anything anymore.

Damn I low-key ship them even though I know it is a very toxic relationship. Their dynamic are just sooo good. I wish they would give Maeve more scenes and give her a story. I love the actress. She is also amazing.

@@daltonevans3412 well, a lot of things will be different, as Characters like Stormfront died and he was a man in the comic...but anyway I see this as a wasted potential, Homelander needs a new love interest, and displaying a bisexual relationships between 2 male super heroes would've been great. We all know Homelander is bisexual anyway...

@@seekeroftruth9454 stormfront isn't dead in the show, i'm not entirely sure if that's what you meant but just incase it is i thought i mentioned it. I don't see it as wasted potential though, homelander doesn't need a new love interest with the way they are taking the character in the show, him having a new love interest could help provide stability and ground him but they are showing him starting to lose it so i think it's actually better he doesn't have a love interest personally.
