Thanks for making this video! It's really important to rid society of these misinformed rumors that the ship is "costing" the city money, or that the taxpayers have to front the bill. In reality, the Queen Mary provides a SURPLUS of income to the city and the county, and all she needs is a fraction of that in annual maintenance. Once all this refresh work is done, the ship will only need $5 million a year in maintenance...against the $95 million she produces FOR the city. And against the $205 million she produces FOR the county. I think the biggest counter argument I've heard when I present these facts to people is when they tell me "Well I happen to live in Long Beach, you don't!" -As if whether or not I live there changes the income the ship generates. So once again, thank you for producing this video, and thank you for the shout-outs!

As someone who has stayed on the ship 4 or 5 times.. so glad she is to be re opened fully sometime in 2023 I am planning to revisit and APPRICIATE her even more. I also have been following ALEX THE HISTORIAN'S vids. ps those lights gave a STRANGER THINGS vibe😍😀

I also tried to get tickets for the Free one-hour tour. It told us the tickets would not be released till 8:00 am the next day, so we also were online the next day at 7:45 am and saw the same thing that it was all booked up for the rest of the tour days. My son who is 15 decided to call a number that was listed on the tour page and he was told that the City of Long Beach had taken the rest of the tickets that were available and were given to employees to use. Now, this was not a couple days of tour tickets, but a few weeks of tickets. My two boys were a little let down that we could not go. The City of Long Beach should not of offered free tickets to the public if they were going to use them for the employees. Little disappointing.

Fantastic work as always. Very entertaining and very informative. The editing is top notch. I love the melding of the old videos with new ones. It's like a portal I to the past. I'm also glad to hear the truth about everything. Particularly about her cost of maintenance vs her revenue for the the city and county. Even to hear the myth about her sinking being debunked was nice to hear. I can't wait for your next video.

The Queen Mary was built 20 yrs after Titanic they were both has some features much alike. Today if they were to put up to date technology and be safety features on the Queen Mary she would attract passengers today, people today has huge interest in old Ocean Liners especially Titanic. The Queen Mary has come from that (Golden) age that many folk s really love today. Georgia Pacific steam locomotive 488 takes folks on excursion trip pulled by a 1925 Baldwin steam locomotive they had since she was brand new.
