Freddy = clearly was THE DRAMA QUEEN - And LOVED TO BE PUBLIC ! + John = was the "normal Guy" who looked like he would prefer drinkin beer & playin darts in a pub instead performing bass on stage. - Roger = Was THE BAD ASS PUNK - and seemed to be happier playin drums for The Who or the Stones or AC / DC ! + And BRIAN = Always looked like he thinked : Why don't let those three stupids not let Me & my "Red Lady" make all the Music Alone ! - --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- But , YES STEPHEN ! = Roger mostly was THE ONLY ONE who played "Straight 4 / 4 in time" - and the other three were SWINGING AROUND HIM ! - He was = more Drummer than bass player ! ***

@@lunacxx1330 , they're classics and my personal favourite 3 albums from the band! From 'A Night at the Opera' onwards they got too poppy and the albums sounded weaker. I DO like some of their later stuff but only on 'The Miracle' and 'Innuendo', as that was like a return to their heavy guitar orientated origins.

This song is so far ahead of its time. There are echoes of thrash and speed metal - genres which were still a good 10 years off and Taylor had them figured out in the early 70's. Even the lyrics are prophetic! Modern Times Rock and Roll is as good as any of their "big hits" and for the rock/metal enthusiast, this should make your top 50 easy.

In interviews they say that the arguing inside the band made every song perfect and gave them the right boost to write different songs. They were equal members so quite free to experiment. I also heard that freddie took ages to finish his first solo project because he didn't like to work on his own and found it boring and called roger to do some backing vocals. I think they all gave their best when they were together and they knew it very well.

Put the 10 album tracks Rog wrote and sang for Queen in the 70's together as a playlist & you have the greatest rock n roll album for youth there never was. Try it, then stick it in your car. It'll blow your mind. The guy is a true rock n roll legend with one of THE GREATEST rock vocals of all time & in my view made the best solo albums of any member of any of the world's super groups. As a complete body of work his career output is second to none - check the dude out - Strange Frontier or Electric Fire both brilliant albums to start discovering the real gems in his canon.

♍♌♋♌ Had to make do with a worn out rock and roll scene The old bop is gettin' tired need a rest Well you know what I mean Fifty eight that was great But it's over now and That's all Somethin' harder's coming up Gonna really knock a hole in the wall Gonna hit ya grab you hard Make you feel ten feet tall Well I hope this baby's gonna come along soon You don't know it could happen any ol' rainy afternoon With the temperature down And the jukebox blowin' no fuse And my musical life's feelin' Like a long Sunday School cruise And you know there's one thing Every single body could use Yeah listen to me baby Let me tell you what it's all about Modern times rock and roll Modern times rock and roll Get you high heeled guitar boots and some groovy clothes Get a hair piece on your chest And a ring through your nose Find a nice little man who says He's gonna make you a real big star Stars in your eyes and ants in your pants Think you should go far Everybody in this bum sucking world Gonna know just who you are Look out Modern times rock and roll Songwriters: Roger Meddows Taylor

Roger Taylor should have fronted Queen after Freddie's death just like Phil Collins fronted Genesis after Peter Gabriel's departure. That would have been the way to go. I'm In Love With My Car and Modern Times Rock'n'roll are sufficient proof that Roger can deliver as lead vocal.
