I've noticed he does that a lot in live performances. I've read that Deacon didn't really like big crowds and felt kind of overwhelmed. Maybe that's his way of centering himself.

@@annehaight9963 John and Roger are always concentrating on each other, they are the rhythm section, the bass player and the drummer need to be on the same wave length as the bass player needs to keep track on the drummers bass drum beats. John's not necessarily looking AT Roger all the time, he'll be looking at the bass drum watching the thuds on the drum skin

drummer here. To me it's obvious: Roger is shifting to a more difficult 16th note beat and thus John gets near to help them stay locked. You don't want the bass player away ftom you when getting into a fast, involved beat

When he hits the high-hat and snare at the same time, does he open the high-hat (even quickly)?
@senesiano6 жыл бұрын
Yes! He does exactly that, he lifts his left foot a little bit, it is his trademark

It is the typical Roger sound but not for sound reasons but for keeping Takt and count with all his rhythmic drum, crash and ride => he keeps count all time with his left foot.😉 ..Dr. dent. drum. Taylor!
