Interesting, informative and accurate, unlike so many royal biographies online these days. Well done.

A firm Favorite of HM The Queen... Who saw HRH The Duke as a "Safe Pair of Hands" Much like his Parents were in their day! Everyone who has any dealings with HRH & HRH The Duke & Duchess. Says the same thing...Delightful Couple and say, Hardworking and Very Kind People. They have always supported The Crown. Their work ethic is much like the that of The Duke of Kent & in her day... The Duchess of Kent...and to a lesser degree Prince and Princess Michael of Kent too.

I enjoy Prince Richard and his wife. I know that he is ranked above the Kent children but I often think of The Duke of Kent as being the more senior because of his age. Thanks for sharing this video regarding other royals.

My favorite royal couple in the BFR. They quietly go about their charitable works and never seek attention. Imo there’s always too much focus especially in the media on Prince Edward, Duke of Kent as if he were the most senior male descended from King George V. He’s the oldest in years but much lower in the line of succession as his father was younger than Prince Henry. King Charles was quite close the the Gloucesters hence the names of his sons-William and Henry. Also somewhat unrelated but Brigitta has the most gorgeous tiaras!

King Charles isn’t dead yet or are you implying that he is no longer close to the Gloucesters?
@floydcam71186 ай бұрын
Well Julianne-I used past tense when saying King Charles WAS close because Prince William his cousin is dead, so it’s hard for him to stay close to him now. The Prince of Wales was named after him and Harry was named after Prince William and Prince Richard’s father Prince Henry. I’m fully aware that King Charles is still alive and in no way meant to imply that he isn’t close to the current Duke of Gloucester, Prince Richard. Also, I received a notice that you corrected my comment about Prince Edward not being the Duke of Kent, but now I can’t find that comment of yours. Perhaps you realized your mistake and removed it? There are 2 Prince Edwards, the Duke of Kent and the Duke of Edinburgh. Because the Duke of Kent is older than Prince Richard, he seems to get more attention, and I was simply pointing out that in the line of succession, Prince Richard outranks him.

What always surprised me about Meghan's accusation of racism in the Royal family, is that The Duke of Gloucester has bi-racial grandchildren. From his daughter, Lady Davina Windsor's marriage to a Maori New Zealander. Gary Lewis. Those children have always been loved and cherished by all the Royals so her accusations hold no water.

Prince Richard was at Cambridge at the same time as my brother, who also trained as an architect. He was known by his initials as PROG.
@amazinggrace5692 Жыл бұрын
Thus is why I find it odd that the royal children aren’t treated the same. Queen E II would have special lunches with Charles, then William, and now George. I assume to train them in the more difficult and particulars of being a monarch. Diana, asked specifically to have both boys treated the same. (They obviously weren’t, esp after she died). But if the eldest dies, then the “spare” is unprepared. It reminds me of President Truman who had to take over suddenly during WWII and was totally unaware of the development of a nuclear bomb. He had to make decisions about deploying an ominous weapon; one that we know well now, but was then the first man-made weapon of mass destruction.

I well remember that the current Duke of Gloucester introduced a TV production in the mid 1980s in which Richard III was ‘tried’ for the murder of the princes in the tower, and he pointed out that he was the first Richard, Duke of Gloucester since the 1480s. Spoiler - the King was found not guilty.

If Edward viii hadn’t abdicated I believe Richard would now be the King. Edward died 1972 with no heirs. His sole remaining sibling, Richard’s father would have become King, then Richard upon his death in 1974.
@pedanticradiator14914 ай бұрын
No if Edwatd had not abdicated and still not had children he would have been succeeded by Elizabeth as she was the eldest daughter of his oldest younger brother that is how the line or succession works in the UK if it worked the way you are suggesting than Prince Andrew would now be the heir to the throne
