Ugh why do major movies have to ruin my favorite TV shows seriously for one Starfire ain't black not that I have anything against that particular color due to the fact that I'm not racist but if you want to stick to Canon teen Titans, Starfire actually has light orange skin, and red hair and is kind of on the skinny side, not only that but she doesn't control fire with her hands, she shoots out green energy bolts, while blackfire's is purple, black fire also has light orange skin, but instead of red hair she has dark purple hair, this is why I don't like it when they make live action remakes of teen Titans or other shows that I like, remember m night shamalans the last Airbender? He totally screwed that up, and this was screwed up as well, don't get me wrong I'm sure it's a good movie, but in order to catch my interest they have to stick to Canon as much as possible.

This show is based on the original Wolfman Teen Titans comics from the 80s, not the 2000s cartoon TV show. This depiction of Starfire is closer to that than the cartoon show. Orange people don't exist so the actresses' race or skin tone is irrelevant. They make Kory orange and give her green glowing eyes when she uses her powers to cut down on day to day filming budget which is a perfectly reasonable, cost-effective visual compromise between never having orange skin (like real people) and always having orange skin (like a fake comic character). Kom will likely have the same or similar effects next season. Both Kory and Kom are skinny in the Titans show here and Kory uses green contact lenses when not powered up. Kory has red hair, both curly and straight, depending on how she wants to style it. Sometimes it's bright red and sometimes it's dark wine red. In the original Wolfman comic run and in several other comic runs afterward, Kory often has orange or red fire and fire-like powers. Even her hair and body becomes surrounded by flames at times when she powers up or flies. She's also able to ignite things with her bolts/blasts. Kom does not have purple hair in Wolfman's run, she has dark red/brown hair. To compromise between the Wolfman run and the purple aesthetic she has, they left the actress' brown hair as is and gave her purple hair accents. Other than superficial opinions about a visual aesthetic which was adapted to fit a TV budget and screen depiction with a different color palette and target audience than a cartoon meant for kids and teens, what exactly did they "screw up" with Kory and Kom?

Lets get one thing straight. Titans is an adaptations of the 80s comics, Not a "remake" of your precious cartoon. In the comics (which this show is adapting) Starfire has pink starbolts and Blackfire has red hair like her sister. I'm all for calling out this show when it makes bad choices but please, for everyone's sanity stop acting like the adaptation you prefer is the original and everything that comes after is a "remake" when it's not.

@@Mr_Knight_87 that may be true, but later on in the comics the writers decided to give Starfire red hair and green starbolts and blackfire black hair and purple starbolts, I used to have a DC encyclopedia on superheroes and villains and Starfire had green starbolts and red hair and blackfire had black hair and purple starbolts.

@@PrinceShadowmoon Exactly my point genius. Titans is a show that adapted the comic run where she was first introduced, The Marv Wolfman and George Perez books. They don't need to bend over backwards and adapt something they don't want to just because It changed in the comics or because the popular cartoon adaptation says so.
