Japan loved Queen and the feeling was mutual. Brian wrote this song to show how much Queen loved Japan 🥰👑❤️

Japan was the first country to fully embrace Queen, they were received like they were the Beatles. It was exciting, impressive and scary but also different for Queen who liked to chat with their fans at the airports and such but due to high security, were hurried off and away from their fans. Brian wrote this song out of respect and honor to be so beautifully received by the people of this country.

It happened on their first tour in Japan, that Freddie fell in love with the Japanese culture and art, he started to collect pieces of several arts, prints, paintings, ceramics, etc. When Freddie moved into his house in London, he asked to form a Japanese garden in one corner, with cherry trees, a pool with koi carps, a small waterfall, a bridge over the water, a piece of Japan.

There’s an official Queen day in Japan. Freddie even learned how to sing some Japanese for the crowd. He and Brian were both interested in the Japanese pentatonic scale from their first visit. ❤

Never cease to be amazed at the styles of songs that were performed by Queen. Never boring, or repetitive.

Thanks, Mann - almost nobody reacts to this song.. it's quite beautiful... appreciate your reaction (of course, as a teenage fan, I memorized the Japanese lyrics.. and years later, my husband's best friend brought home a Japanese woman - who spoke no English.. and left her with me.. so at least I could write these lyrics.. and she loved me! lol)

This is one of my favourite Quuen songs. Fun fact: The Japanese love Queen so much that this song was included in their opening ceremony at the Tokyo Olympics in 2022! PS. Hope you're feeling better soon.

I loved how you showed us the hairs standing up on your arm. Took us back to the moment you experienced the goosebumps. YES - it is amazing how many of his songs seem to apply to after he was gone ... like he knew ... and of course he didn't. the two times he sings BE NOT GONE in this song are incredibly haunting (in a spectacularly good way) Practice learning how to say the name. it makes every Queen fan smile to hear it. Teo .... T O Torriate .... TORE E AHH TAY and it's fun to say

Brian wrote the song and is a true 💎 Freddie's voice singing those lyrics is heartbreaking... and more I think of Freddie and remember his comments through the years more I believe that he knew (or sensed it) that his life would be short and that he has a mission to bring love. I just recently read that one of his teen schoolmates in India remembered Freddie talking about life and how long it will last - Freddie said that he somehow sensed the number 45 😢
