What a LOVELY SURPRISE this morning! This song was played during the opening of the recent Olympics in Japan🖖 (Since it was during CoVid/there were no live performances, it was LOVELY to be able to hear the original song w Freddie singing!)💕

This is not Freddie Mercury’s only song ever sung partially in Japanese. On the album/CD, “Barcelona,” where Freddie sings with opera diva, Montserrat Caballe, the 2nd song is entitled La Japonaise. Freddie and Ms Caballe sing duets and solo parts in this song. The lyrics are both in English and Japanese, but I’d say predominantly in Japanese. Freddie wrote the lyrics to this song, including the ones in Japanese. If you want to hear the creative genius to Freddie’s composing, lyric writing, and performing, you should listen to the remastered version of “Barcelona.” Be prepared to be blown away. Freddie loved the Japanese people, their culture, and their art that at one time he had the largest Japanese art collection in the UK. Not only did he add to his collection while on their music tours, but he visited Japan with friends to go shopping. All of his Japanese art is currently up for auction at Sotheby’s in London.

Teo Torriate was played at the opening of Olympic Games in Tokio 2020, when the flame reached Tokyo from Greece. Since it was Covid time the movie showed how the flame was lit in Greece then arrived by plane to Japan and made its rout to the Tokyo stadium ❤ ... Japan loved and still loves Queen and that was a special bond they share ... So touching and amazing ❤
I must’ve binge-listened to this song 100’s of times during the Covid lockdowns in California!! “Teo Torriate” (Let Us All Cling Together”) .. beautiful tribute to Queen’s Japanese fans! Check out LAS PALABRAS DE AMOR, a tribute to Queen’s South American fans! 💟

This is such a beautiful song. When they performed it in Japan, the fans all sang along. It is a kind gesture by Brian to honor their fans.

This song shows Brian May as a brilliant lyricist, and multi-instrumentalist. You gotta check out Tie Your Mother Down. A Brian May written rocker. Great opening track

Also please react to Queen - Tie Your Mother Down ( studio version with intro) I like those harmonized guitars in album's intro and outro, also they are played backwards! You can check out the rest of the songs from this album and start another one)))

I believe their albums liner notes would always include a statement that claimed no synthesizers or overdubs were used to produce any sounds on it. Maybe some Queen super fans can corroborate or correct me on this. They were England’s version of Rush, with a REALLY GOOD singer and frontman.🤘🖖✌️🎸🎤🥁🎹

Thanx! Yes - the part at the end isn't really part of the song, it's just the hook at the end of the album (the opener fades in the same way).

For all of Freddie's singing ability I was never enamored of Queen, back in the 70's and 80's to me and my mates they were more of a pop band, when you were listening to and seeing live bands like Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Rush, Motorhead, Venom, Judas Priest, UFO, AC/DC, Whitesnake and many more over that time Queen were not a rock band in our minds and things like this despite their musical ability for me is just pants.
