Brian had so many health problems, but he is still with us and rocking the world, saving animals, studying the space, he is an all-round man.

One thing Brian has always said is that he loves touring and performing. That must have been exhausting this past decade or so, yet he still managed to accomplish important things in so many different arenas.

This was interesting...Brian sure is an incredibly intelligent person. I knew about some of the books that he has written and some of his collaborations with world renowned scientists, but not to the extent that was mentioned here. Thanks for sharing this, Rory.

Thanks Rory Queen is always fascinating and there is no other band who could go Toe To Toe with them… each one of them😊 There is a book or a film on each band member of Queen The most amazing thing is that such a group of disparate guys could be in the same era at the same age with such inventive musical skills and wind up in the same band✌🏼 They are as personally interesting as their songs 😂 You are great! Don’t stop what you’re doing 🌹

Sir Dr. Brian May (hope that is correct) seemingly never stops doing the things he loves. I find it fascinating how varied his interests are. Thanks for sharing this one. While I had heard of these things before, I have not seen it all put together. I noticed there were a few clips from his solo albums which I believe are quite good. If you haven’t listened to his solo music you might try Resurrection and Driven by You. As always, I really enjoy your reactions.

I have Queen in 3D and it is a beautiful book. Brian had a 3D camera and took it on Queen tours. He has some photos not seen anywhere else. I highly recommend it. I have always liked the sound of Brian's home made guitar. It is one of the things that gives Queen their unique sound. He was so ill before the Sheer Heart Attack album came out but managed to write two of the most enduring songs, Brighton Rock and Now I'm Here( 2 of my favourites). Apparently his IQ is 180. Totally brilliant.

I think The Prophet's song also appeared in his feverish dreams when he was ill. Brian often "composed" songs of a dream he had ... His brain obviously work intensely when he is asleep... Just pure genius. ❤

Never thinking John Deacon suffered 'depression'. He didn't want fan attention, wanted to be let alone when he went out - only think of him deeply mournful those days, months, years as they wrapped up Queen life and music plans related to losing Freddie. Roger was mournful for several years also and it's clearly evident in his "Happiness?" album he put his thoughts to music...great lyrics recalling life with Freddie. Even Roger's "Outsider" album has a track or two sharing mournful emotions. Also that family of John's surely kept him from being so seriously emotionally down he'd be labeled 'depressed'. Sorry for all this but it was therapeutic for me. lol. Thanks for this regarding Dr. Sir May.

Brian is also keen on preserving nature in general. A few years ago, he purchased a stretch of countryside in Dorset (a county on England's south coast, for any non-Brits reading this) that was earmarked for development. The local community were opposed to that, and it would have meant further loss of habitat for wild animals and plants in Britain's already severely built over island. So, with the help of those locals, he planted a whole lot of native trees there, restoring pre-existing ancient woodland. It's called May's Wood, or Brian May's Wood, and it's now open for the people - as well as the wildlife - to freely enjoy and learn from in perpetuity. Another interesting point I don't think they mentioned in the video is that he was involved in a NASA space mission - I forget which planet it was they were exploring - for which they got Brian in as a consultant on his specialty, interstellar dust. This is the tiny fragments of old stars and other objects in space that forms clouds that could obscure views and measurements and make calculations go awry - I think! Anyway, working out how to measure and understand this phenomenon - a fairly obscure area of astrophysics - was the subject of Brian's PhD thesis, so he was NASA's go-to guy for the topic on this mission. IIUC, his 3D photography/viewers have also been used to get clearer understandings of the surface of other planets, rather than just studying them in normal 2D photographs. :-)

Having been through a couple of periods of major depression, I can tell you that it's not the same as just being really sad. It is a true illness and it can paralyze you, making even the simplest tasks impossible. But Brian has fought his way through. He is one of those amazing multii-talented people who shine in many ways.
@iris67si9 күн бұрын
Brian is still struggling with depression. He said that you never go through it, you just learn to deal with it. (as you surely know). Brian is just the sweetest, most intelligent (with the IQ of 180 😮) but very humble human being. 🥰

I knew most of that but a few things surprised me. I knew about his animal activism but did not know he had a sanctuary on his property. I knew he had written a few books but he did a lot more than I thought. How does he have time to do all that and Queen and his solo career? I don't recall ever hearing that Brian lived with Freddie and Roger. Is that true, Queenies? I know Freddie and Tim shared a flat as well as Roger... but Brian? Had not heard that. Thanks for the reaction, Rory!

Roger, Brian, Tim Staffell and Freddie rented a house in Ferry Road, Barnes. He got on particularly well with Roger and in 1969 they opened a stall in Kensington Market. This from Queen: The Early Years.

Nice. If you are interested in Brian's views on astronomy, cosmology, meaning of life etc. you should check out his appearance on Jonsey's jukebox (Steve Jones from Sex Pistols). Its not to long and I think it's quite good (although there might be some better material of that kind that I don't know). Cheers !

Yes, that is a good one. Jonesy always does a good job letting his quests speak. Also, Rick Beato did an interview with Brian, mostly about Queens music. It is most relaxed I have ever seen Brian in an interview. Rick also does good job letting guests speak. The music is Queens legacy! 🎶

For You: A relatively large asteroid " 2023 DZ2" will pass the earth aproximately 175.000 kilometers from the earth on Saturday April 1th. It passes at a speed of 28.000 kmh. It will pass at 8.49 pm danish time - and it will pass very quickly. It will return in 2026. It is uncommonly large and asteroids this size normally pass earth once every 10th. year. Inf. from the European Space Agency. Last year in September - on my grandma's birthday - NASA succeeded in a "cosmic stunt" to change the course of an asteroid with a collision (controlled of cause) with a spaceship.It was Called a Double Asteroid Redirection Test . Brian of cause was close by - maybe you can find some footage - the whole procedure was filmed and could be followed from NASA - .

Freddie went to college with Tim then met the others Brian didnt used to like the audience joining in but changed his mind at Bingley One if Freddie critiques before they formed Queen was they should interact with the audience more Bruan said bands just didnt do that you turned up did your songs thats it Freddie wrote in the lap of the Gods revisited for audience interaction Rock you works well i dont like the film implying it was his idea fir the band to do sing for audience participation when he was against it initially! The film makes it seem Freddie didnt contribute much I hate that film!
