Although originally a Brian solo song, this song also appeared on Queen's Made in Heaven album which appeared in 1995, four years after Freddie's death. I love both versions. There are probably a number of Queen songs you've never heard. Another beautiful ballad that you may not know is Save Me. Check out the live version from Montreal 1981. Subscribed.

This song was originally recorded by Brian May who co-wrote it with a couple other song writers, for his solo album "Back to the Light" Brian May performed this song live for the first time at the 1992 Freddie Mercury Tribute concert ( star studded and worth watching in its entirety). This version, with Freddie, was released in 1995 on the final Queen album featuring Freddie called "Made in Heaven" Brian's version is quite different featuring a gorgeous accoustic guitar solo. This version has, you heard and saw, a rocking and gorgeous electric guitar solo. Both versions are quite different but both are gold!! I love them equally for their unique sound.

How brave a man Freddie was to cover a song written by Brian (not sure if Brian wrote this song about Freddie)about his disease and eventual reason why and facing his departure from this life. As a songwriter myself inspiration can come from anywhere whether it be good or bad he touched millions of lives worldwide and so many people will be able to relate to this song. I’m not sure if you’ve heard this song, but the official video for the Queen song Let Me In Your Heart Again is amazing! It’s Freddie’s vocals at their finest. The song and video were released I believe in 2014. It was a song that had never been completely finished or released until that time. Let Me In Your Heart Again, in my defense by Freddie Mercury, and Freddie‘s version of Too Much Love Will Kill You are probably my favorites. Too Much Love Will Kill You was written by Brian May, you should watch his video as well. It’s very touching.

Hey GT!! Welcome back! Don't beat yourself up for not recognizing this Queen song since it was NOT a real Queen song per se... Sir Brian May wrote this song about the anguish of his inevitable upcoming divorce... his guitar says it all... This song never publicly aired until the tribute concert to Freddie in 1992 when Brian sang it live at the concert (and very moving)... of course, when they released Freddie's version, it took on a whole new meaning with Freddie singing it... like others who commented here, I also prefer Brian's version of the song, although Freddie captured the concept of the song literally... dying for his lover... TYVM for all you do for us... blessings. P.S. Now you can see why I call Queen the "Master Manipulators of Emotion"... it seems they are the only band I know that can get you to cry and laugh in the same song... can't help but love that... As others have said, this is Brian's song. It's about the pain of the breakup of his first marriage, while in love with another woman. There are two versions of this song....this one with Freddie on lead. The original with Brian on lead vocals. Both beautiful. Butt, I think, you should hear Brian sing this song. 🙂

I love this song written by Brian May but if you really want to understand the song, you have to understand what Brian was going through at this point in his life and you need to watch the Brian May video of this song, it is my favorite of all and I even listened to Tommy's version. This is a great song, I can truly understand why someone would cover it. When Freddie sings it one get a feeling that it is about his life and fate but in fact it was about Brian who had found so much fame and fortune with Queen but whose life was crumbling around him. If you want the original it was Brian's single. Freddie sang it but they never thought they would use it ,so I think it was kept, Brian wrote it about his marriage break up and sang it at Freddie's tribute concert (worth a watch) the band added a few things to Freddie's version and put it on the album after Freddie died Made in heaven. This was an album using all the things Freddie sang in the last months of his life. He asked for lyric and sang each 3 times and told them to finish them as he knew he would be gone by that time. On the album is the last song Freddie wrote whilst in Montrose the based around what he could see from his bedroom window. Also there is Mother love the last one he sang,he had to go and rest after the first two verses sadly he died, Brian out of respect and love finished it, make sure you have tissues when you listen to these xcc

This is actually originally a Brian May solo song (and not a Queen song) from his Back to the light album. Some really good songs on that album, I can really recommend it. This is likely why you haven't heard it before since it's only on Queen Greatest Hits III and not on any of their studio albums. I actually prefer Brian's version of the Queen version.

No I simply watched it when it came out. It was the new song that got released called "Face it alone". It has to do with the record company that owns the rights to it. I had to edit the video several times in order to not get it blocked.

I like Brian's ( guitarist ) version of the song better. In this instance. It was a song he wrote for his album. But. Fred liked it. So. He allowed Fred to sing a version ( he arranged ) that was more rock heavy / in line with the Queen sound. Since it was a song expressing his personal pain over the breakup of his marriage .Brian's version is, at once a beautiful, yet visceral expression of that pain. There is no substitute for that. Even with a voice like Fred's.

This was never on a Queen album during Freddie's lifetime. It was written by Brian & 2 others & Freddie didn't want to share royalties with others outside the band. The remaining members did include it on albums released after Freddie died. While Freddie sings the bajeebus out of this song, I actually prefer Brian's version. Brian wrote this at a very low point in his life & the emotions he brings feel very personal.

Sir Dr Brian May's version is the first version of the track. The contrast of the two tracks is in the context. BM's version is equated with the dichotomy of getting divorced. FM's version is about the results of promiscuous behavior. Neither is better than the other. They are both great. LONG LIVE QUEEN!!
