I remember being 4 or 5, shortly after Freddie's death, and there was a vinyl of Queen constantly playing in my home. My mother loved Queen and she played it while she was cooking dinner every night. Then one day I don't know why but I asked how did Freddie died and my mom answered me that: when you are famous and are a wonderful person, there will be so many people loving you and there is a limit to the love one can receive, and she said in Portuguese exactly what he says in this song "Too much love will kill you". And I was always very inquisitive but this answer in itself silenced all my doubts. I admire how gracefully explained me such a delicate matter, and when I learned English and learned about Aids, the circle closed. Thank you mom.

"Too much love will kill you, just as sure as none at all" my favorite quote ever from any song , not just from Queen. I plan to get this quote tattooed onto me as it means so much to me . i turned 18 not long ago so i'm saving up. Queen and their lyrics/songs have helped me through a tonne of shit. Saved me from suicide, helped me through my chronic depression caused by PTSD at the young age of 15, calmed me through many panic attacks, helped me realise that life isn't all so serious , and most of all helped me realise who i really am after n=being clueless for years and what i strive for in life; love, passion and aspiration. It's almost as if each Queen song can relate to a time and situation in my or someone i knows' life and it brings back memories, being good or bad. Either way, that song gives me time to reflect upon that time in my life and i can really be in the moment. Oh what i would give to be able to see Queen with Freddie Mercury live just once for even just one song... i would treasure that moment forever and keep it close to my heart. However what he left behind is the most i can have and it saddens me . Most girls my age enjoy the modern music and don't get me wrong, i do enjoy a bit of modern music but stuff like rap and hip-hop does not appeal to me one single bit. It's a shame that's all you hear on the radio and TV these days because i would love to go to a concert.... although who to see is the big question. I wouldn't have to think twice if i lived in the 80's or if Freddie was still alive. That's what hurts my heart most. He could have been so much and could have done so much, even though he stated he had lived and was ready to go and would be happy, it's definite that he could have been so much more. But because of some nasty disease just like cancer, he didn't get the chance. However Freddie is still warming the hearts of many and enlightening young people with his touching lyrics and that's what makes him an amazing performer and artist. Not many singers hold that power. I love you Queen, Freddie Mercury with all my heart and despite not growing up with your music or growing with Freddie, they will forever have a special place in my heart and i will never stop listening them. I hope one day i grow wise and have children of my own and i wish to introduce them to the outstanding band to keep the passion and love for them growing. Thank you for teaching me the ways of life and leading me through difficult times at such a young age. "Lover of life, singer of songs" 1946-1991 We love you.

LYRICS I'm just the pieces of the man I used to be Too many bitter tears are raining down on me I'm far away from home And I've been facing this alone For much too long Oh, I feel like no-one ever told the truth to me About growing up and what a struggle it would be In my tangled state of mind I've been looking back to find Where I went wrong Too much love will kill you If you can't make up your mind Torn between the lover And the love you leave behind You're headed for disaster 'Cause you never read the signs Too much love will kill you - every time I'm just the shadow of the man I used to be And it seems like there's no way out of this for me I used to bring you sunshine Now all I ever do is bring you down Oh, how would it be if you were standing in my shoes Can't you see that it's impossible to choose No there's no making sense of it Every way I go I'm bound to lose Oh yes Too much love will kill you Just as sure as none at all It'll drain the power that's in you Make you plead and scream and crawl And the pain will make you crazy You're the victim of your crime Too much love will kill you every time Yes, too much love will kill you It'll make your life a lie Yes, too much love will kill you And you won't understand why You'd give your life, you'd sell your soul But here it comes again Too much love will kill you In the end In the end

I was born the year Freddie died and was actually really introduced to Queen through a show that they did with Paul, not even knowing who Freddie Mercury was. First time I listened to Bohemian Rhapsody I hated it. More that I listened to it and Queen in general, I truly began to understand what music actually was. It wasn't just lyrics and instruments, it needed heart. That is what most music today is missing. Thank you Freddie for that. God bless.

Yes, it's about it, but if u love one person too much, the result s similar. And I still feel that no one ever told the truth too me... I heard that sex without marriage is a sin, but I didn't know that men would be interested in having sex with me, I wasn't an attractive girl , guys who wanted 'that' from me really surprised me, I was sure that they needed just my company or a friendly conversation...

As a 11 year old girl, im the only one in my class, who loves Queen. The other ones listen to a kind of pop, that i do NOT like. When im very sad, Queens music, and Freddie Mercury, screaming AEOH in my head, actually helps me become okay again :) Edit: Hello people... I am almost 13 now, and I still love Queen. Often, people ask me "Wait, you still like Queen? You liked them 3 years ago, to!" My point is, how can you ever get enough of Queen? I love their music, and I always will. The first priority in high school is survival. Just blend in with the crowd. once you graduate, then you can be yourself, but until then, just avoid being yourself, because it is a waste of energy. Observe what the others students are doing and pretty much pretend that your interests in fashion, music, movies, sports is the same. It will take 6 more years, but eventually, you ll be free to become a Queen fan, and nobody will criticize you

TOO MUCH LOVE is off "Made in Heaven" a posthumous release. Freddie gave them as much as he could to work with. Brain said "He was so weak. He sat at a table, in front of the mic' We gave him vodka and cigarettes -he was a (USA) pack a day smoker - "and he never complained.". I'm a vocalist, trained, and have sang my whole life. That Freddie could generate that much projection, that much power, literally on his last legs is unbelieveable.

What breaks my heart the most is back in the days, like mid 70's and 80,'s, I loved this group. But the more I think about it, they were ever greater then I ever knew. I never appreciated them like I do now. I should have known better but being young is stupid is all I come up with, and I'm 72 years old and keep coming back and listening to all the Queen videos, man how I miss them. The greatest group and lead singer ever, IMO. RIP Great one. I hope I get to meet you in the next life.

"Too Much Love Will Kill You" I'm just the pieces of the man I used to be Too many bitter tears are raining down on me I'm far away from home and I've been facing this alone For much too long Oh, I feel like no one ever told the truth to me About growing up and what a struggle it would be In my tangled state of mind, I've been looking back to find Where I went wrong Too much love will kill you if you can't make up your mind Torn between the lover and the love you leave behind You're headed for disaster, 'cause you never read the signs Too much love will kill you every time I'm just the shadow of the man I used to be And it seems like there's no way out of this for me I used to bring you sunshine Now all I ever do is bring you down Ooh, how would it be if you were standing in my shoes? Can't you see that it's impossible to choose? No, there's no making sense of it Every way I go I'm bound to lose Oh, yes! Too much love will kill you, just as sure as none at all It'll drain the power that's in you, make you plead and scream and crawl And the pain will make you crazy, you're the victim of your crime Too much love will kill you every time Yes, too much love will kill you, it'll make your life a lie Yes, too much love will kill you and you won't understand why You'd give your life, you'd sell your soul, but here it comes again Too much love will kill you In the end In the end

+Kolin Mote Brian May gets pretty close, but with Freddie Mercury the song just hits a whole new level of emotional destruction - I think it's not entirely because of Freddie's amazing talent, but partly because of the way his story ends and the astonishing foreshadowing of this song which was written in 1986 (the year before Freddie Mercury was diagnosed). This song is powerful on so many levels that it's almost unreal.

I am a fan since 1992, when I was 7. My family first CD was Queen's Greatest Hits II. The detail is that I learned English many years later, so I would love songs, even though I had no idea what the lyrics meant. Their music is hard to label, because they are not an 70s or 80s band. their sound combines elements of many different styles for example.

@alexlee85138 жыл бұрын
"Too Much Love Will Kill You" is a song written by British guitarist Brian May of Queen, Frank Musker, and Elizabeth Lamers.The song reflected the breakdown of May's first marriage and attraction to his future wife, Anita Dobson. It was first recorded by Queen around 1988 or before, and was intended to be on the band's The Miracle album in 1989, but did not make the cut due to legal disputes following the band's decision that all songs on the album would be written by the group as opposed to individuals. After Freddie Mercury's death in 1991, May arranged a solo version, which he performed at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992, and subsequently included on his solo album Back to the Light that same year. Released as a single, it reached No. 5 on the UK Singles Chart. Because it was first played publicly at The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, a common misconception is that it was written as a tribute to Freddie Mercury, although it had actually been written several years before he died.
