I'm old enough to remember this! Well at least one of the performances. My Dad had just got this new state of the art audio cassette recorder and taped the audio from any song we liked. This was one! Been a fan ever since! Would have seen it in B&W probably but we did get a colour TV at some point in the early 70's so may have seen it in colour. It was log ago and far away!

A nice post, my family had only just got a colour TV in 1974, let alone a VCR.

@@kurgan46 My first VHS would not come till the early 80's but my Nan bought a colour TV in very early 70's and we all lived together. First show I ever saw in colour was "Opportunity Knocks" with Huggie Green! I remember seeing microphone foam tops in greens and yellows! TOTP's we all watched in her room after that!

@@Sungdynasty66 I remember watching The Prisoner in colour late on Saturday nights in the early seventies when I was about 12. My school also had an early VCR that I messed about with when nobody was looking :D

Trekkie there’s no need to use colorization for the performance because the one that Queen used for the 2011 DVD documentary “Days of our live” it look so horrible, so i prefer black and white

I wonder if this version exists due to a b/w film copy being made for overseas transmission. If so, maybe the color could be restored using the chromadot technique used on Doctor Who, Dads Army and Morcombe and Wise episodes

A simpler explanation would be is that the VCR used in this case was a B/W recorder. A colour copy exists from a different source anyway.
