We all have a choice between becoming better people than our parents or repeating their mistakes, hence perpetuating the cycle. She has no compassion from me, she should have known better than to torture her young child, the one that I actually feel for.

The late Queen Elizabeth was a poor mother, choosing her crown over her children. Sarah Ferguson commented on her coldness especially towards King Charles, who went to his grandmother for solace .

Her husband was older but he was very handsome. Their son would have been the same but he wasn't treated very well by his mother. It wasn't his fault that the doctor/mid wife nurse took him out of her womb and twisted his hand and arm. From then on, children born "deformed" were not well received. I don't recall if she had other children after the heir was born. But it was sad growing up and being spoiled. He always hated his arm just dangling there, so he hid it. He really wasn't a weak man, only that he wasn't truly loved and felt pushed aside. When his father died and he took over, it was torture for his mother. All those corresponding letters she wrote to her mother had to be smuggled out of Germany. He was wanting an army, and navy as great as his Uncle Edward, Emperor/King. He was jealous and built up air planes, sea ships, bombs, toxic gas, all of this ready at an instant to declare war. His pattern followed by the next Socialist President Hitler. Brought Germany to it's knees twice over. And the Kaiser, well he is still waiting to be buried in his vault with the rest of his family but he is still in that chapel as his grave, untill the time of the resurrection.

Absolutely not true she actually did love her children, but failed to the love all of them at the same time ...her childhood was quite melancholy and I think she didn't have the emotional intelligence to love and share her love with both her children and her husband

@@lporquai9048 I’ve read many biographies on Queen Victoria. They all state that she was a very passive mother. She was self centered and selfish. If it wasn’t for Albert, their children would have received no maternal love, just criticizing banter.

I would ask the question, why are male leaders and heads of state revered? Do we know what kind of fathers they were? Most likely not. And even if we know they were cold/uninvolved fathers (likely true in most cases), we still revere them. We do not ask about what kind of parent they were, nor do we care. Why should female leaders and heads of state be held to a different standard?

If Wilhelm's cousins, the Tsar of Russia and the King of England (who despised him - probably because they saw him as a cripple) had listened to him WWI would not have happened. It started with a Serbian terrorist killing the Heir to the Austrian throne and his wife by shooting them in a car provided by local officials. AUSTRIA made demands of SERBIA, etc. Austria and Germany had an agreement that Germany would side with Austria if Russia took up with the other side. He begged his cousins to say out of it. They did not. The Tsar and his family were executed by revolutionaries. Willhelm lost his throne, and King George did just fine, thank you.

The Tsar started the war by mobilising his massive army on the German border, a very stupid act. The German Kaiser repeatedly warned the Tsar of the consequences. The Tsar failed to listen and war was the outcome. The Romanov dynasty was deeply unpopular. Russia was not capable of fighting any war due to a lack of weaponry, ammunition, insufficient uniforms, boots, warm clothing, adequate transportation and food supplies. It was bound to end up with millions dead and revolution as the consequence. Nicholas was advised to send his wife and children to the Crimea in the south. He stupidly didn't listen and when revolution broke out the family was trapped in the north from where there could be no escape anywhere. The German and Austro-Hungarian rulers lost their thrones as the Americans refused to come to a peace while they remained in power. That was the rampant stupidity of President Wilson that caused massive political insecurity in central Europe. George V survived as he was a constitutional monarch. He sided with the people. The elected government ruled and not the King. Nicholas was a bloody tyrant. Autocrats don't do democracy. It's hardly surprising that he was overthrown and subsequently murdered. After all he murdered millions of his own people.
