good morning its funny because I think he bought that huge house in Surrey with their first be payoff from their albums selling. The rest of the guys thought he was insane to blow his portion of his money that way. I think I read that house was worth 10 times what he paid for it in a year. When they shot Spread Your Wings he only had access to the land behind and not keys to the house yet. I believe he still lives there as well!

Well, I'd say that's half true. While he could really have sung anything and I'd listen to it, some of Queen's calmer songs like '39 and Good Company, were better with Brian's voice. And I honestly can't imagine IILWMC with Freddie's voice 😂

John Deacon provided several gems which are not always remembered. True Queen fans can remember 'Misfire', 'If You Can't Beat Them', 'You and I', 'Who Needs You', etc. besides the world-wide hits like 'Another One Bites the Dust', 'I Want to Break Free' and 'You're My Best Friend'. It is quite sad that he has never been fully recognized by most as a truly gifted base guitarist. He provided Queen with another dimension. It is great that this video captures two of his contributions. Underrated musical genius.

Queen unapologetically tackled many musical genres from hard rock to opera and everything in between and had number 1 hits or were on the charts for many weeks. Every album had a surprise - the reult of the uniqe diversity the 4 members of Queen brought to writing hits. Every member of Queen had number 1 hits - no other band in history have done that. Queen truly are legend. There never was nor will there ever be another band like Queen.

8:04 you almost never hear such dense chords in vocal harmonies. I believe it's just a standard add 9 (C, D, E, G if it was in the key of C) but Freddie nails those pitches so hard it's just amazing and sounds like a dang synth it's so perfect.

The thing is that Queen were at least twelve (very) different (great) bands into one. And that never happened before. And that's likely never really happen later in the future. Sometime human history stumble into something unique. None still expects to see another Leonardo Da Vinci or Jimi Hendrix or Bruce Lee or whatever you can think of as one of a kind. Same thing goes for the Queen.

@@kerryn6714 yeah surely they did, but definitely not in a structured and disruptive creative way as Queen did, Beatles experimented few things and had their original take revisiting classic genres..however stitching together pop, proto-metal, opera, folk, prog and who knows what often in the same record..well, that was way out of reach for Beatles.

2:09 Taylor's voice was just as badass as Freddies and HIGHER but he never gets much love cuz well, he never sang leads on any tunes except this one and maybe a couple more but I think his voice on this song is wicked. Kind of like how Peter Criss actually was a better singer (imo) than Gene or Peter and he sang lead on their biggest hit, "Beth". Always someone better. Like how Richie Sambora is just as good at singing as Jon Bon Jovi but just not as cute. Almost but... not quite.
