I’m a sucker for pitchers and bowls. It’s all so cool! Those butterflies! 🥹 They would look cool framed in a shadow box. Have you ever thought about doing a botanist or old biologist adventurer type ‘study’? Maps, weird jars, note books, curiosities, perhaps some birds, plants. Things they collected and studied, maybe a desk and comfy chair.

The black and wood stained desk chair is absolutely gorgeous! When I was young, we moved into a beach house that included all of the furniture. The house had two or three chairs that looked nearly identical to that one (in full size). In fact, one of the chairs was a rocker. They varied slightly in colors and styles of flowers that were painted on but the style and the black and gold details are spot on! Sadly, the house was burned to the ground by an arsonist and nothing in it survived. I’m so tickled to see that chair and it brings a smile as I remember the simplicity of life during that time. It was also my understanding that the chairs in that house were made during the 40’s or 50’s. (Possibly older.) Thanks for sharing!

I recently moved from the west coast of FL to the east coast. Anyway, there is a beach back on the west coast called Coquina Beach. Because Coquinas live there. They are teeny bivalved shelled creatures. Like clams. Those would be perfect for something like the sea shadow box. I'm not sure yet what we have here on this coast. I'll be on the lookout, though.

Thank you :) I always loved Barbies growing up and all the tiny things. Then I made that Corgi as a teen for a friend's grandmother's dollhouse. Then I kept it when it came out smushed and instead made her window boxes out of popsicle sticks and filled them with clay flowers. I made some mini paintings and a magazine rack over the years for another friend's dollhouse. I didn't get into making minis myself until December 2020! Better late than never. Since you like the smaller scale, maybe get a half scale house, room box or something. RGT has half scale lighthouse and keepers house. Good place for shadow boxes of shells. If you had a cottage or small home near the coast, you could build a dock and have somewhere to display your shark capture. You are the one who made the shark, right? I don't have workspace to make a big house, but I noticed some of the bigger houses you can get extensions for them that add a couple more rooms. One I looked at was two rooms, one over the other, flat roof that could be a nice garden or deck space. Oh, you need 1:12 to display your minis. There are some cute kits, with loft spaces that are sort of room boxes, fairly compact. Even if you just had a 3 sided room box to display these type of videos contents in that would be cool. Maybe you could design it in a way you could swap out the wallpaper depending on what flavor the items you show are. Western, nautical, 70's, etc

I will definitely do something in half scale at some point. It's crazy how small half scale looks so I'm thinking I may prefer 1:16. I think I'll do my Harry Potter common room project in 1:16. It's not too small but it's also not too big. Could be a happy medium.

Hey! Love love love the desk and chair. I do that kind of work in human scale, and the design is actually stenciled on the back of the chair and the front of the desk, not painted. It would be fascinating to see if the artist who made the mini did it as a stencil or as hand painted. I also love the unicorn paintings, and immediately thought of Hagrid and HP - you should incorporate that somehow! Also, YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY GET A DOLLHOUSE!! Of course I have 8 of them, so that is obviously my focus. All 8 are 1:12 scale, so I really have to cut myself off and start doing room boxes instead, or change to a smaller scale. Love the haul!
@queencityminis2 жыл бұрын
That's amazing that you make that type of work in full scale. That's really cool. It looks hand painted on my pieces. I just wonder why the chair got so many details and the desk didn't. You'd expect the legs of the desk would have paint on the turnings like the chair does. I love Harry Potter! That's a great idea to use the unicorn paintings in a HP scene. I love it. I have plans of making the Gryffindor Common Room. I've been so busy but I should be able to start in October. 8 1:12 dollhouses! That's wild! You should try 1:24 scale next! 😆 The only dollhouse I've completed is my 1:48 Witch's Cottage (the video is on my channel). That's a fun scale. I'm also done with a 1:144 scale dollhouse (also on my channel). Such a pain but really gratifying.
@kat39102 жыл бұрын
@@queencityminis I really enjoyed your Witch's Cottage which has made me think more about 1:48 scale... but first, I have to finish all of my 1:12 scale projects!!
@queencityminis2 жыл бұрын
They're never truly finished, are they? Thank you! I think 1:48 is an easier scale than 1:12 since you don't need as much detail. 1:144 scale is harder! Too tiny

Oh I love all the goodies in this haul but my favs were the shell shadow boxes. I live 16hrs away from the ocean deep deep deeeep in the southeast Kentucky mountains and I dream of the beach daily. Your so lucky to live so close to the beach. Do you know if they made the seahorse and shells inside the shadow box or are they real? I dream to find something like those for my vintage dollhouse I’ll be renovating soon and sharing its journey on my channel. I drove 4hrs away and 4hrs back through 4 states to get this vintage dollhouse and sooo many extra goodies and can’t wait to share its before and after process.

Is it fair to assume that any miniatures that are made of pewter are antiques? I acquired some signed plates and trays in a lot sized mystery box about 10 years ago. At the time I had never seen minis made with metal. Everything seems to be made of plastic these days.
