I always thought, she was quite underrated at competitions. So happy for her for placing within the top 3 in the Queen Elisabeth competition. She really deserves it!!! Wishing her nothing but the best in her career! Will definitely follow what she’s up to. A truly inspiring artist with a very fun personality as well :))

You didn't hear this from me but I think she was blacklisted for being a former student of zakhar bron. That's why she didn't do as well in other competitions. There's a lot of politics and favoritism at play and sadly a lot of jury members take out their grievances on the students of violin teachers they have problems with.

Quite stirring! We are living in a time of an amazing number of very talented young violinists. I’m hoping Elli has a wonderful career!

THE outstanding concerto in the final for me. Good that the Queen Elisabeth Competiton shared these.

Elli Choi is the best interpreter and the best player of this great concerto. Impeccable and fine playing out of honestly touching music from her true understanding and true feeling of this concerto. How can the first prize winner Dmytro be compared with Elli Choi's playing????

This is a very fine rendition of the Schosta, especially when considering that this was under competition conditions. It will be much debated whether the 1st prize was adjudicated correctly, but, one way or another, we will hear much from Elli. I am looking forward to the development of this outstanding young artist. Remember that Gidon Kremer also did not win the competition at the time!

меня вот эти ребятишки с концертом Шостаковича порадовали немало - браво !!! had she played less in tune, less focused tonally, less expressive, she’d have had a chance at 1st. Had she played more in tune, with greater intensity, she might have had a chance at 4th

Depending on the vagaries of the judges panel it’s probably impossible to determine ahead of the performance what’s going to please them on any particular day. Music is art and entertainment….Elli’s performance thrills me!
